@Burnsy how are you digging that G&L? I wanted a Tele for my next 6 string but think I may try and get a Tribute Asat Special. Those pickups seem sweet.
I've always been told never to go into a kitchen and insult someone's food. Usually there are alot of sharp knives nearby. It's just a bad idea.
Also Yeah I was very upset needless to say. Especially since it's kind of a one of a kind bass since it was a prototype for their Rebop 5mm line. But it's just a chip so I'll survive.

It's NICE. It's the nicest instrument I've ever owned. Of course I'm a lover of cheap weird stuff, self-builds, and frankenfender/squiers so that's only saying so much. The only other usa-made instruments I've had are a Ric 4003 bass and a weird 80's pointy Guild. The G&L swats them both aside IMO (of course comparing a guitar to bass is only partially meaningful, but I never really bonded with the 4003 FWIW). The pickups are great. They got single coil bite and zing, but loads of output and not much hum at all. I've been plugging her into a plexi-type amp, cranked into output overdrive (yay Hot Plate attenuator) and its thick yet sharp, nice full bottom end even on the bridge pickup. Classic rock / punk rock tone heaven. Plays like butta. Smooth and even everywhere on the fretboard. I am suddenly 80% better player at cleanly executing arpeggios on actual chord shapes. Can't think of a downside. Oh yeah- pearloid isn't my thing. But it looks good on her. Those Tribute ASAT specials look like a good deal so I say go for it
@Pelham Bleu Did you have a glorious NAD that either you failed to mention or I happened to totally sleep on? What's this Hiwatt doodad I see on your social media pages?
I'd cut him for being on my line, then a second time for questioning my menu.
That's a decent show. Second (and final) season is better I thought.
No spoiler, but what sucks is season 2 ends in a serious badass cliffhanger, then the show got cancelled. Arrrrgh!
Got to hear my rat clone through a vintage V4 + mesa 4x12 at loud volumes. It actually sounds really shaging good, it gets somewhat fuzzy at higher gain settings. A/B'd it with a Volt Thrower, which was the winner obviously, but my little guy held his own. It's a bit darker and fuzzier than the VT.
Only bad thing was that he couldn't get a lot of volume out of it, had to have it dimed and it was still below unity a tiny bit. I didn't experience this with my amps, but in retrospect it's probably not as loud as it could be.
Edit: I think i need a linear pot, not audio taper.

Jammed with a drummer tonight, went pretty well. Referred by a mutual friend, close in age, also married and with a kid. We're going to jam again next week. Hoping this may develop into a real band, since it's not a random CL kook.
Bummer. Terrible endings to a series or cancellations seem to be the norm these days though.

I acquired a Hiwatt 400 back in May lr June after my spring/summer gear purge. It was a bit of an ordeal when I got it so I just never really hyped it. I almost gave up on it at one point. Long story short, it suffered some damage in transit, got it repaired but it was a 4/5 month hassle with a couple techs. Seller was cool and picked up most of the repair bill in the end. And, yes, it's quite glorious!
Here's my half of the Heavycraft practice space:
The 3620 is the only cab I have wide enough for the Hiwatt to sit on atop comfortably. It hangs a little over the sides of the Orange and Ampeg cabs, though it's not unstable. Sadly, the Vulcan pictured is out of commission. My live rig is still AD200 > fridge. Been using the Hovercraft head mostly for cromagnon man guitar paying.

Busy at work, wheeling and dealing, vendors trying to hit end-of-year numbers means I have the upper hand. Bring on the deals.
Thankfully my wife is into the whole CroMag thing I got going on. Also doesn't hurt that my daughter hates me clean shaven. All depends on how they know you.

Anyone else golf? Over Thanksgiving we rolled down to southern California for a field hockey tournament, and I got a round in with my daughter. Super fun, except for the kook that we got paired up with. Stoked that she beat me this time. I was looking forward to when she'd first beat me, and it has come all too soon. 
I am used to palm trees from living in Florida but whenever I see palm trees by mountains in a pic it trips me out. I needs to see the desert in person.
