Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Stayed up late after class last night to go over practice recordings. We have actual songs, with lyrics and singing and they're tightening up nicely. We're this close to having demo material. I want to post one of them, but I'll wait for the go-ahead from the rest of the group before I do that.
I got my home recording rig all sorted out this week while I had some time off work. Got an Eminence Swamp Thang speaker in for the 1x12 cab I bought and got to try out the new Traynor DH15H with it. I made a quick recording with everything, including my GK/1x10 rig. No mixing on any of the guitar or bass tracks other than high and low pass filtering for clarity. I like the speaker, I was having a real problem with every speaker I tried having too much high end and not enough low end, the Swamp Thang definitely fixed that. It's crazy loud, which is good and bad in a way. I still may try out a Cannabis Rex model for fun in the near future, when some more funds come in.

The huge sound belies the tiny amplifiers. Sounds killer as usual!

Thanks man, I'm glad you think so. That was the big test, if I can make everything sound good at low volume, EQ at noon, with no mixing. If I can get a good base tone like that, I know I can make it sound even better with some work. Does the Carvin + 2x12 sound a bit more "massive", sure, but on its own terms the new rig sounds damned good IMO and it's way more compact and easier/cheaper to replace tubes as necessary.
They both post on FB pretty regularly. Probably not here as much because of work restrictions. I know a lot of people that posted with the old app dropped off.
yeah... i dropped off with the app for a while.. then the forum fiend portal worked out well enough to be usable.
Oooohhhh maaaan, buddy of mine at work plays bass in a really awesome stoner band, they had a mini tour set up for this weekend, booked a year ago. Drummer just cancelled at the last minute for dubious reasons (he has a history this kind of thing). That shaging sucks. poopie.
The office sexytery just slammed two cups of my kava. She wanted to try it out. I keep looking over to see if she is feeling it. I love watching newbies try kava to see if they feel it from day one or not.

Thanks, they're Superior Drummer 2.0 from Toontrack. I've been wanting to get an expansion to get some more vintage kit sounds. My buddy has EZDrummer 2.0, which is newer but not as in depth for tweaking sounds and it sounds really good too.
