So the Fender Custom shop is putting out a Katana in metallic orange. SCHWING.
Ugghhhhh how are some people so incompetent at this? Did she sound like she was really old?
I know, right? I'm tired of shaging slap bass demos of jazz basses. It tells me nothing about how they'd sound playing what I play.
Cool pedal. A bit too complicated for me, though.

Played a last minute show at the Stork Club on a bill Mohicans dropped from. Was pretty cool. Sounded good. Played with Refract and Beastmaker.
NAMM day 4. Thousand yard stare in full effect.
Anybody here use the DOD/BAT Boneshaker for dooming it up? Buddy might be getting rid of his, was gonna try it out. If you do, any tips/tricks/settings to mess with would be great.
couldn't go back to namm, cause i'm flu ridden, but i've gotta go shoot a pedal video tomorrow, so i'm gonna have to suck it up and drive to the oc anyway

We got snowed in for two days in my neighborhood in Nashville so I went way down the rabbit hole researching jazz basses. Had some gear sell at the same time so I pulled the trigger on a Fender Custom Shop Jazz. Normally, I think the CS stuff is just way overpriced, but I got a pretty great deal on this one.
I've never heard an active bass I loved (for what I'm after, at least) and assuming that holds true, the electronics will probably be changed. Leaning toward a stacked knob and a switch to put both pickups in series. Already ordered a different pickguard. If I don't love the pickups I'll swap those too. Still open to suggestion, but I'm leaning toward Fender CS 60's at the moment. Perhaps I'll do a YouTube clip of me playing chords and harmonics followed by some sweet slappin'! Now where did I leave my ponytail, Oakley's and backward Kangol hat?

Hope y'all's Monday started better than mine. Had a collision with a suicidal deer while going ~50 mph this morning. Wagon's a little banged up. Deer fared much worse. Already got the insurance gears turning, hope to get into the shop by mid-week. Still runs fine but the driver side door only opens 2/3 and the driver side panel is fugged the fugg up.

Stumbled onto Sunday Valley recently and that has me Jonesin for a p or jazz bass again. Been trying to learn more walking bass lines. Kind of want a passive V p or jazz because I love hitting the IV and V below the I instead of above the I. Thinking of just getting one of those Yamaha BB passive pj though they are a little fugly. Cheap but supposed to have a solid B string and solid build quality.
Another day off from work from the crappy roads. Sipping yerba mate, filling kava orders, and music. Maybe snow in the south ain't so bad.

Anyone interested in my fuzzrocious Dual Demon? two demon pedals in 1 enclosure. one has LED clipping instead of the usual diodes. individual volume, tone, gain and blend for each.
Definitely good enough to keep the Kava closet stacked. It's building slow and steady with repeat customers. It helps that I have access to some of the best kava you can get in the US. I pretty much get to sell my personal favorite root. Not getting rich or leaving my day job but I am covering the cost of restock and supplies. And it is just a fun to be a little part of the Kava world.
