I think it has coil rub. Has an annoying buzzing when playing. I should really get around to having it fixed.

I think it has coil rub. Has an annoying buzzing when playing. I should really get around to having it fixed.
Oh man, I probably would have chatted with you for another hour if not for having my wife and kid waiting. My wife was carsick or something, she threw up on the side of the highway on our way up there and I think having to wait a while made her a bit antsy.
Most of those nu metal responses are from the bay area!
I need to figure out the pickup thing. I wish I could just slap a Dimarzio Model P in there or even just any standard Precision pickup, but it's routed for 35 size soapbars. I suppose I could get Drake to make me a plug or wood plate or something to make it work if I really wanted, not even sure I could afford that plus new pickups at this point. I had Seymour Duncan Basslines in there, sounded really bland and I hated them. Switched to the Nordstrand DC's, which are a lot better though still just not really my favorite sound. I like playing that bass more than any other I own, but I play my pine P bass and my Carvin PB4 way more, because they nail my go-to tone. I may hit up Nordstrand about making me a split coil style P in a 35 enclosure or something, if I can swing the cost. I had good experiences dealing with them when I ordered the current pickups. They don't sound bad either, they work pretty well for a noise rock type tone with a good distortion pedal, but they don't have that rude grunt sound I like out of my Dimarzio Model P or even the more hi-fi Carvin P pickups.

I'm lucky enough to be in the same boat. After finally turning up and playing more regularly when the kid is sleeping (at her insistence), she keeps telling me it helps him doze off. I usually put him to bed about half the time, so I'm not often playing in the evening anyway. I also have been playing in the early morning a lot more lately with no complaints.

I can run my 1x12 quiet enough to make the wife happy, but my mother in law still complains (downstairs) so it's back to headphones after ten.

Good to know. The 410's volume is too touchy at the low volume settings, so this may just be the little kick I need to get my Bandit combo.

I love Seymour Duncan's guitar pickups, but their bass pickups are kinda meh, in my opinion.
No, been slowly collecting for about a year or so. It's gonna be my low volume practice board. Kind of a one stop guitar and bass board. And it's pretty fun getting weird sounds out of cheap effects.

Lucille is a 335 variant, it has the rotary tone selector, which the 339 does not. But it's similar.
No it's a reality show about a retired homicide detective from baton rouge that comes out of retirement to finish a cold case from 18 years ago. Dude is grizzled, old, drunk a lot, bad ass detective. Pretty entertaining, on discovery / various shady streaming websites.
