Yes. They are buddies with a lot of the local club owners and promoters that cater to rock and heavy music and have both been part of pretty successful local bands thus making said friends a buncha coin. Obviously that stance wouldn't function out of town. I honestly don't care about the money. $20-40 is cool but not enough for me to be salty over not putting it in my pocket. It grinds me that it is simply not discussed as if we weren't getting paid and then they keep the loot. If money is to be had, I want it. But if it isn't much I want it to contribute towards covering the next batch of CDs, merch, space rent, studio time etc...
Morons... With regard to the bass, yes absolutely. They are incredible at their instruments and great writers and they know what they can get away with regarding gigging.
As for practice vs. sports. Drummer is a huge blues fan. I get it. I like some sports as well. I don't even mind a cancelled practice if an important game is on at the same time as rehearsal. But if we have an upcoming gig; yeah... The sports game is always less important unless the Blues were to miraculously make it to the Cup. Then even I'd rather watch the game. Dude cancels practice for games, dates, "I'm not feeling it tonight" and other BS. That coupled with the fact that he doesn't want to haul the merch, doesn't like to practice long or often and always tries to borrow a kit so he doesn't have to move his makes me think this joker doesn't really want to be in a band. He just wants to gig and reap glory. All the blood, sweat and tears are not of interest.
****. The hard part is, as I've stated, that I love the music, like the guys as individuals and love gigging and generally playing with talented people.
St. Louis is such a poopie scene for metal outside of its upper echelon that I'd likely end up jamming half assed covers of Enter Sandman and Back in Black with a 30 year old guitarist in his moms basement playing out of a Crate 112 combo and no drummer. Or a drummer that can barely keep time with a basic beat and no guitarist. Or some kind of SRV cover band. The Midwest has some serious weakness
I'm going to stop being negative now. I've cooled off and want to discuss gear and sweet bands.

While we are at it, @askrere you should try slaving that RB into your rockmaster into the dually. Kind of defeats the purpose of the GK grind but it could be cool.
