I have, but I was going to wait until I received my Dually and sufficiently played around with the EQ once again to make up my mind on swapping them or not. Thanks for posting what works for you, I'll have to give it a shot. Do you find yourself having the guitar volume relatively low? The better tones I've gotten thus far have been with the volume on the bass itself only around 3 or 4, tops.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it. I have a friend with a old school ripoff Fender from the lawsuit era w/ passives, maybe I'll try hitting him up.

Oh yeah, I absolutely love that pedal. My go-to setting right now is very aggressive while still retaining a lot of fat low end. I like it to roar. It takes a ton of tinkering with that pedal, but the versatility is amazing. I always enjoyed the tinkering, myself.

It took me a while to dial my SP in, but I found a fuzz tone I liked a lot. Of course, then I sold it. :banghead:

I had this, both internal trimmers dimed.

Hey Gents, I finally got a website for my kava sales, but I wanted to make it a fun place where I could add fun stuff or links to friend's websites or just whatever. So that is called the Squanche's Cave with some sub sections. Since I live vicariously through you guys and your bands if any of you want your websites, bandcamp pages, or videos on there, etc. shoot me a pm. My buddy created the website for me and he is going to teach me how to tweak the pages and add stuff so it might be a little while but I will get it done. I want to add a random/link page too. I wanted it to be more fun than just another kava vendor website. Plus @PokeyPrasch designed my label which I absolutely love and I learned about kava from @The_Janitor so I thought this awesome part of the internet should be part of my little website.

Sorry this is so late to the party. Not all of these resources are focused on pedals, some are tube amp resources, but lots of the theory/basics hold true to any circuit. I'm surely no Electrical Engineer like Nick, but I'd be happy to try to offer any help I can if you have any specific questions. Here's a few that come to mind:

Thanks buddy, that's just great.

I built an OCD clone yesterday. It has a switch to select between mosfet, LED or no clippers. Another switch for the HP/LP except this switch has a 3rd position for a mid peak. Finally has a 3rd switch to select either 9v or 18v via internal voltage doubler so I can run on 9v. I spent most of my time at home working on it yesterday. I felt really good about it all; soldering was clean, all parts were on hand and I was really digging the final look I had going. I realized right when I was soldering the last 2 wires just before closing the case that I had made a fatal error. The 9v/18v switch was an add on to the circuit board and a tight squeeze in the MXR sized box. I did some "Kentucky windage" style measurements and thought everything would fit. Well, everything just barely managed to squeeze in except that I had forgot to account for the ribbed border of the base plate. Now the base plate won't fit flush. It was pretty upsetting. Made me feel like the whole day of seeming productivity was a waste. Today is anew and I have mended the cuts to my pride. I think I am going to take a dremel to the base plate and grind away the section by the switch. It's either that or buy another case and recase the pedal, possibly with a boost or blend. Anyway... The LED is ultra brite yellow.

Gig tonight with Honky ft. JD Pinkus of the Butthole Surfers and Melvins. Reconciled with the band a bit and found some low gain OCD and ODB-3 settings that they loved and I can live with. Got a fresh set of RS 66s for the Jazz to get a good cleanish sound for tonight. 3 days off work to facilitate the gig. I'm pumped for it. Taking the freshly retubed 2000s and an 810. Have some promising deals in the works for my Kramer and possibly sending the SVP to Austria. If those things happen, dually two is getting ordered shortly.

Any recommendations for a high wattage 2 ohm stable class d head? Ideally with a flexible preamp. If I'm going to gig the tube amps exclusively I should probably look in to a decent backup amp.

You know I thought about Mesa but was afraid to make a step in to boogie camp. Might be too much change from my Ampeg/Sunn worldview. Plus expensive.

It is a top contender nonetheless. Come to think of it, I guess I don't really NEED 2ohm stability. For big shows I am using two amps, and that would be a huge Bummer if both went down, but 4 ohm backup would probably work fine in that extreme scenario.

I think my number one would probably be an MB800 fusion. Any opinions regarding the subway vs fusion?
