Anyone else notice that the guys who are most vocal about being Christian bassists are often also complete jerks?

I also grabbed one of their Rat boards and a couple muff boards. They have a bunch of cool stuff though.

New cab day: Peavey TXF 412. Was at a pawn shop for $199 and I paid $150+tax.
Sounds pretty good, loads of low end. Rat fur is clean. Casters are a bit undersized but they roll really cleanly.
Made big noise in garage tonight. I must have another one.
So probably gonna get that weeping demon sometime this weekend or early next week.
Was also thinking a tacky synth would be fun. Anyone ever use a cheap goodwill Casio with there soon rig for fun?
Also what a good way to mount my voodoo power block on a pedal board? Zip ties? Longer screws?

Check that Casiotone series from the 80s. I have a Casiotone 370 and it's really fun. The actual piano/electric piano isn't that great but the brass, strings, chorus, vibraphone, etc. are all 80s cheese awesome.
I've run some crappy Yamaha keyboards through my behringer pod ripoff and pedalboard. The amp models on the pod can sweeten up the tones somewhat. Distortion is cool, flange phase, etc all add some awesomeness. What was really cool b was using the bass synth on the b-pod, once I found a patch on the keyboard that triggered the synth well I ended up with a cheap ass not analog, but sort of analog sounding synth. Sounded awesome through a bass amp. Still dont know how to play keys so I didn't do much with the setup, but it was fun.
I always make sure that my lady ditches any purse held fetuses whenever we ride dirty. That's just a major faux pas.
Show went pretty well. Shorter than usual set. The venue just built a larger stage, so no more barely squeezing two full stacks and an 810. 415 from here on at that place. The V4B could probably rise to the call of duty solo at that place. The 2000s was certainly formidable. There was a good balance on stage last night. I felt my tone was a bit dark, but I could here myself.
I know this has been discussed ad nauseum on TB and here likely, but lazy prevails. For anyone tuning to C standard, what gauge strings are you using across the board? Barring custom gauge sets ordered, if you are to buy a 5 string set, which string do you toss aside?
I've been tossing the E string and just swapping in the B. Yesterday, when stringing, I got rid of the A string and used the E in its place. I'm considering tossing the G out, but since all of those gauges would essentially be untuned from their intended pitch, I'm wondering if excess tension could be an issue. Thoughts?

Well my short scales in drop Bb, and the B string is .128 which seems like a nice size for C if you want tension, I'd check just strings
If I were using a five string set on 4 string I would ditch the g string and use the bottom 4. The jumps in gauge would be too drastic for me any other way.
That being said, I did not have good results trying to tune a b string up to C, too much tension on the neck, strings were much too tight. I'd just look for the fattest 4 string set that you can find. 110 or greater for the e string should be fine for C standard.
I've been using the dr DDT strings and I like them a lot, they're designed for downtuning and/or repeated switching from drop to standard. Very, very stable, decent tension, sound great even after they start to go dead.

Do you mean to much tension feel wise or structurally? I mean it's only a half step up.
I have an old Korg Poly-800 that I've played through bass rigs. It's a legit digitally-controlled analog-oscillator synth, just very basic and stripped down. Sounds fat and awesome through the rig.
I was just thinking earlier today- my drummer has just about finished the drum tracks for our 5 song EP. I'm going to add the bass then vocals. I was thinking earlier today it would be a neat prank to record my parts with the synth instead of my bass. Then send it to my drummer. "I finished the EP!! here's the first mixes, what do you think?"
I know you said "Barring custom gauge sets", but Imma tell you anyway; I get bulk stainless steel strings, 6 to a pack, from juststrings.com. I tune to drop-C. I get 120, 90, 60, 40. I like the lower-pitch strings to have somewhat high tension for good chuggy chug with the pick, and the high pitch strings to be a little loose for vibrato and bending. If you went up to 120 / 90 / 65 / 45 I think that would be pretty good for C standard. It'll cost you ~$70. Then you have strings for years? (a decade?? how often do you change 'em?) and you don't have to buy a whole new pack if you break one.
Gotta cut a new pickguard. My lapsteel is getting new parts, the bridge cover for it covers the ugly bridge route on this guy. I think it's a relatively old mudbucker, has wood parts, no writing.
Gonna cut a new guard and re-wire it, restring it, cover bridge and call it good.
Both. Tried it in the early days of the current band when guitarists were in C standard. Difficult to play because the strings were so tight, also caused instant significant front bow. Your mileage may vary, of course. Didn't work out for me, luckily it's a 5 string so I just bit the bullet and transposed on the fly.
