Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I've been amassing an army of Peavey Silver Stripes lately, but relatively few footswitches. Anybody know if it's safe to run my footswitch to a TRS splitter (TRS footswitch, obviously) and from the splitter to multiple amps? That way, I can activate all the dirt on all my amps simultaneously. I do the same thing with a splitter at the end of my pedal board to get signal to each of the amps. Thanks, all!

Check out this head, I used to have one, but I don't think I've ever seen one with the parallel/series input option missing.

edit: further research says this is probably the 400A, whereas the one with the parallel/series input in the middle (under the EQ) is the 400B.

Curious as to how many doom bassists are going against the grain and using blasphemous class-D micro heads? I play in more of a death metal/crust band that will sometimes go into some slower, sludgy riffs and my Mesa subway D800 sounds absolutely massive with every cab and bass I've paired with it. I'm also running a Darkglass B7K as an always on dirt and mid boost and I have a bass big muff in my signal chain that I click on when the tempo drops.

when i'm feeling lazy i use the Aguilar TH500. Having said that, i'm still hauling either an 810 or 2 215s...

Haven't made the D class jump because my bass heads are doing fine as is, even though they now weigh more than my cabs.

There were a fair number of the Orange class-D heads showing up on stage last year. They've been discontinued though.

I jumped last year, from an svt cl to a Darkglass micro head. I love it and I'm never going back

I rocked a genz benz 9.2 for awhile, then I got my verellen and have tried and failed to go back to solid state. There is something indescribable about tube power at high volume to me. More felt than heard. I tried to go to a carvin 3800 watt power amp with the mostly harmless pre-amp. It just didnt have the heft at high volume to me. It felt like there was something missing, so I eventually gave up and went back to hefting the verellen around.

So I've had an SVTcl for about two months now and finally found that diming the gain really opens up the sound. For the first 6 weeks I played thru two 810 cabs mainly just cuz I could and the drummer loved it although I was crushing the guitars. The overdrive I'd hoped for wasn't there even with the gain dimed. So back to a single 810 and it's got the drive I'd hoped for. Now even the fuzz sounds better.

have you tried diming the master? then set the overall output with the gain. that will get you the early svt sound.
