Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Hell no. Roll the volume back just a tad. Then use the additional volume later when you need a boost.
Yeah that's what I did. Maybe I need different pots, I used Alpha mini's but it is strange how zero to 3/4 on is a smooth volume transition then after 3/4 it is like boom a huge spike in volume. Maybe the switch from 250K to 500K will fix that since it is a humbucker.

No, it full on sucked. I know what your saying though.
This ws the first rehersal in a few weeks... But still. My resolve is I have to replicate conditions. Medium gain settings are not going to work at high gain. Also when settling on a tone stack I need to use a pick since 90% of the songs feel more comfortable with a pick.
Also feel I'm delusional that a .115 is working for a B string. Have half a mind to at least break out a .124 balanced Circke K set and see.
Have a VT-RM arriving today. Bag End speaker came back in from Orange County. Carvin gear arrived yesterday. Crossing my fingers this combo will work.

I just do not "get it" when I see this. Is it me? Am I just to old, or does the Japanese taste in music confuse anyone else as well?
A coworker told me about this a couple weeks ago. Definitely psychotic and not in a good way. Won't try it again. Bipolar at best.
I like heavy/soft transitions but that is too incongruous.
Maybe I'm too 'merican and I just don't get it.

I don't mind .115 for C but vastly piece .135 for B. I like much greater tension with lower strings.

I'm using 4 bangers in this project. I have three balanced 5 string Circle K sets.
.118 is on the Gecko now, felt ok but not enough play time to be clear.
.124 and .130 sets are available to try.
The 4 bangers are 34" scale... Gecko 5 is 35" so they are not going to translate.
Taper on the large string is going to force me to go through a new setup procedure.
Was not pleased last night so need to do somthing. But I don't want to make too many changes and not find that magic bullet.

However with these songs I feel more comfortable with the 34" scale. It's Dbeat hardcore so lots of quick riffs that can't sound like mush, all the notes need to punch. Definition of the notes is what I'm fighting otherwise just sounds like a drone/rumble comming from my side of the mix.

Joe what's the output of the mudbucker? And I'd just use all 500k audio taper pots.

Could also maybe wire a switch in with a cap to cut boomy lows when you want.

Your getting me itchy to try the
EB-0 again before I sell it. 32k mudbucker into the dually should alert my house neighbors I have arrived.

12.21k. You think I should use 500K for all three pots. For the single coil and the tone also? Yeah I may have to rethink the wiring. I just wanted to go simple like a Jazz or a PJ. Dimarzio says wiring in parallel will cut some volume, but will increase highs and mids, which seems like a good thing in a mudbucker.
