Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

But in all seriousness, everybody has a smell and keeping a reign on your funk is is a responsibility.
I'm very nervous about stuff on my hands, get crazy neurotic if I get sticky. So I wash throughout the day to keep my crazy in check.
Don't much like it when strangers'funk meets me before they do.

They're pretty close though I think the BW has some different settings not on a normal Whammy IV or V. FWIW, I sold my Whammy DT to get the BW and I think the BW tracks just a hair better but it's pretty close.
I pretty much just want the octave down/octave up setting the most for both bass and guitar. So I might get by with even a Whammy IV except it won't handle chords like the V, Bass, and DT but I don't care for much more than a power chord with octave on anyway. Probably pick up an older version and save a little.

I had to text dump the last gal I dated because her junk had a funk. Apparently some people can grow up in a rich family, have a great career, plenty of cash, but not enough sense to scrub it.
You mean to tell me there is no such thing as beaver-rehab?
Like a cooter groomer you can take your gal to?
Sounds line there might be some money in that.

I even clean my strings LOL. Seriously though this is the coolest string cleaning gadgets ever, works like a champ and is an all in one unit.

I'm waaaaayyy to self aware.

Same I wish I wasn't sometimes, but I think it's better than being a clueless dirty individual.

It's seems appropriate that I take this time to mention, if I haven't before, that I have no sense of smell. In that sort of case I think my wife's general opinion in calling it a super power and not a disability, would be right on track.

Can you taste very well?

My sense of smell is crazy good, it's related to taste strongly.

It gets creepy sometimes, when I was like 2-3 I went to a nursing home and soon as I got in told my mom that it smelled like blood and death. She didn't like that I could form that conclusion, but couldn't argue either.

Miss, smegma is only for dirty uncut boys...

Yeah, I have a really acute sense of taste. My wife usually prefers to default to me for cooking or tasting her dishes while she's cooking. I've heard a lot of people say things like "if you can't smell, you can't taste". It's not very accurate, because they're usually going by when they're sick, have a stuffed nose and also can't taste well. That's not an accurate assessment of how smell affects taste, because being sick just also happens to effect your sense of taste. It's just coincidental, it's not because of having stuffed sinuses. Smell interferes with your sense of taste, if anything. It can enhance, sure, but it can also completely override. There's that experiment where you blindfold someone, have them smell an onion and bite a green apple. They think they're eating an onion. I can still tell what my wife is cooking when I walk in the front door sometimes, because I can taste garlic or meat or something in the air, but I can't actually smell it. Every time anyone has doubted this, taking a big sniff of a carton of spoiled milk, a full kitty litter box or something else usually convinces them. It's been kind of funny on rare occasions. I don't know when exactly I lost my sense of smell, but it was probably sometime in late junior high or highschool, when I had to be on some serious antibiotics for one thing or another. The first time I noticed was when I was a sophomore and an entire room ran out screaming and I had no idea what was going on. Apparently someone opened the door and threw a stink bomb in, I had zero clue.

The octave down on the BW tracks really well. You'd probably do just fine with a cheaper Whammy IV, though.

What bass are you lusting for?
A Tobias in the Classifieds here. I'm trying to con my wife out of the money. Same one I aborted the purchase of earlier this week. I am drawn back to it, repeatedly. I don't even know if I'd like it any more than the other basses I won now, it's just when I see an awesome deal, I want to get it, because of my perceived value-meter.

I've got a new pedal on its way to me. A reverb, the 1776 rub-a-dub long block circuit, built for me by Evan of Dirge Electronics who posts over at ILF. Man, he got the parts and made it lightning fast. I bought it for guitar, but I'll give it a go on bass as well. He took this snap shot of the enclosure, before finishing it up and shipping it out to me.

Same here, its gotta really smell good or bad for me to smell it and still I have to stick my face in it...so whether I smell or not is always up in the air. Unless I really smell, which has a chicken noodle soup aroma to it. This sometimes means I may smell a little and not know it until someone mentions it, then I feel bad but can't really do anything about it then, and then I freshen up at the earliest convenience.
