@bassboysam keep the reviews coming. I've been thinking about trying a heavier set on my medium scale. I'm torn between the awesome bends I can get and not having enough snap on it currently.

I pretty much never experiment with strings anymore.

I've always ended up going back to XLs, so that's what I use.

I've been the same way with EB slinky's. I occasionally get the urge to try something else in the last 5 years but I love how they sound new and dead...

So this happened...

Spent coin I really didn't have to spend but it was such a screaming deal, I couldn't pass it up. Needs some electrical work but otherwise is in good shape. Other than that, the ladyfriend finished the mix for my album. When she gets back from sf in a couple weeks, I should have the masters a week or two after that. It's a lush sounding doom so far.

Some stuff I'm into: High on Fire, Sleep, Electric Wizard, the Obsessed (anything Wino really), Boris, Earth, etc.

Mids knob on that VT intrigues me. I have the big version. I’m still warming up to it and the ODB. Not my favorite flavors of dirt (Rat or OCD) but I figured I should have them in my arsenal. They are slowly growing on me, but it’ll be a while if they ever take off my Pharaoh, Pork Loin, or B3K.

I dont know if your into these guys but I really dig them. I like my doom with vocals that are audible and whats cool about this bands singer is the fact he was originally in Napalm Death where the vocals were anything but audible.

Hah that's one of the best Craiglist deal's I've ever seen. Nice one. I love the old acoustic control stuff but its getting a bit rare to see them anymore. I have a 2x12 and the 150 guitar head I use for recording sounds great for guitar or bass.
