Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Obvious answer is obvious. "Bass of Doom," wall of Acoustic 361 18" stacks, and a crippling drug addiction. What more do you need?
edit: Playing at 12th fret sounds subtly worse than playing at end of fret board. Playing at like 6th fret sounds pretty good, actually, but is pretty much the same sound as playing at end of fret board where a "normal" position might be. I don't know how to quantify the difference, it's light and I don't care for it, but it could just be the constant feeling of driving a pick into the wood of my fretboard. I dunno how you can use a pick at that point and not gouge out hunks, either. I didn't realize that once you got up to the nut end of the fretboard it was the same sound as playing at the bridge. The more you know, I guess.
Ended up picking this up before practice today after going through a TON of sound clips and demos and playing everything I could find in stores. So far its sitting pretty well in our mix and sounds like its adding a nice bit of attack and clank with the mids bumped.
@bassboysam what is that? I got a microbrute and was lost in it for weeks. So much fun to mess around on. Being analog and having immediate access to all functions without any menus, etc. is so nice. Would never look for another synth if it was polyphonic.
As for the guy with his bass at his ankles, I always thought it was a bit odd and probably uncomfortable to sling it that way, but to each their own I guess. Music's not bad from what I remember.
Congrats @rutrho I imagine it sounds pretty good. Might be blasphemy to some, but sometimes a little dirt is all you need.

I guitarist let me try his. It is a surprisingly useful pedal. The EQ is great, and the range of gain is very nice. The clipping is nice and smooth, with good transparency. I hate to take any sales away from DA, but the Green Rhino is an excellent poor-man's Bass Overdriver.
After putting the Tyler jt100 through its paces head to head vs my guitarist, I honestly still prefer ol trusty (800rb). I guess the good news is I can easily flip the Tyler for the same $ I paid for it.
it's a moog sub 37. i also had the microbrute it was awesome.
the sub 37 has everything i want in a synth.
37 keys.
all controls accessible via the hardware. no need to rely on a computer to access features and settings.
duo mode allows for some polyphony.
can be tuned up or down in semitones so i don't have to teanspose our songs all the time.
That's rad! I agree, accessing features via a computer can really detract from the fun you can have. The tuning is real nice to have.
I’m not sure he wears his bass low enough.
His strap setup is pretty goofy but his playing is pretty legit!
Not my goal. I can’t deal with a bass lower than my belt.
Ha. I like to pluck over the neck, but not always so a long long strap is out. Plus I'm 6'2" so most straps "maxed out" would never get that low on me.
I feel your pain. Im like 6'2" 270 lbs. My levys straps are maxed out and still sit about crotch level
There's also a healthy medium where you can pluck over the neck, while still being able to conveniently reach the volume knobs and upper frets on your bass.
Yeah i cant imagine. Weve played shows as a 3 peice where i was playing down on the floor facing the stage so the mic didnt feed back.
