Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Al used the megalith while with shrinebuilder and his tone there pretty much sold it to me.
Ive been gettin away from fuzz and more into distortions the last year or so.
Darkglass AO is my distortion of choice for the last 6 months.

And a carcosa and boneshaker are heading my way. Used for a good enough price if I don’t like them I won’t lose my ass. And a hum eliminator to run my hx and SG through my effects loop. Pretty psyched for this setup.
Carcosa is solid. Nearly kept mine, but have plenty of other fuzzes. Honestly, one of my faves is the old DOD Classic Fuzz. I have 3! You can get them for $30 if you can wait.
Never used the classic fuzz, but for $30 I gotta check em out.
I think there may be a new comer to the guitar and bass fuzz. Not sure if anyone has seen this yet:

Couple bass demos too and does sound pretty damn good and huge. Granted I'm a sucker for tone benders. Not a huge variation of overall tone but seems to keep the tone sweep only in the usable range. I hate when you have a tone knob that's only useful over a small portion of the sweep.

For those who don’t know, the guy who who designed the Carcosa was let go from Digitech / DOD. He has since made his own pedal company and his first pedal is essentially an improved Carcosa. It actually went up for sale today: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
Well I hope that dude does well cause he made a killer pedal IMO.
Didnt know they went up for sale already, I want to try one for sure. He basically single handedly ran the DOD arm of harman. If I remember reading right the first couple years he was the only guy and did all the design on the first few pedals (mostly reissues). The guy's created some awesome pedals for sure.

So I'm sort of convinced Tatsu Mikami of Church of Misery is one of the best doom/sludge/stoner bassists out there. Maybe it helps that he is pretty up front on their mix most of the time.
Okay, best is subjective, but I think he is certainly ahead of a lot of bassists in the genre. Obviously this isn't a genre about chops and standing out, but I definitely notice his playing way more than most.
The point of this post isnt to start a debate about who is the best, but more to express appreciation.

Good to know my opinion is wrong. What are bassists in the genre do you think stand out from others?
No opinion on him but when I saw them at Psycho he had his bass pretty much around his ankles, kinda funny to me.
I'll go with being that guy on this one, but I've never been able to take him, or that band, seriously enough to even notice based on the way he wears that thing and the whole schtick of writing every song about serial killers.
I am fully, completely, and totally aware this is a complete load of old man bull crap, and entirely outside of what would generally considered to be open minded or very TB prime-esque of shutting down just because it's a little different.
But.. whatever. We all have our things.
I do apprechiate that the finish wear on his bass is only on the upper horn, though.
I'm also going to go try and play right now with my my plucking, picking i guess fingers, somewhere about the 12th fret just to see how different it sounds from a "normal" position.
