Below are pics of my completed and working DIY pedals so far. They are, respectively, The Swede, a Boss HM-2 clone from DIY Guitar Effects Pedal and Amplifier Kits and the Refractor, a Klon Centaur clone from Aion Electronics - DIY Guitar Pedal PCBs for classic circuits
I preferred Aion's board design and inclusion of wiring harnesses, however their directions weren't anywhere near as detailed or well thought out as BYOC's. Also, the Aion kit showed up missing 4 capacitors and 2 resistors but then went on to include 3 components that don't even belong in the kit.
For their non-kit projects, (i.e. they supply just the board, you source your own parts) Aion's documentation deficit really shows. They provide a parts list for the resistors, capacitors, switches, pots, etc. so all the parts are all listed out conveniently for you, all in one place... except for the other parts which are only mentioned in a footnote that you only notice after you've sat down to build the pedal!!!!! :rage: In this case, it's their BBE Sonic Stomp clone that I was going to build this weekend but it now turns out I'm short a couple of components on :mad:

So far the score seems to be:

Aion Elctronics - kit quality :meh:, documentation :thumbsdown:, board and wiring design :hyper:

I should have some time tomorrow to get some clips recorded and posted :thumbsup:

How do you like the guv'nor? I dig the sound I've heard on recordings, but never had a chance to try one.

Same here. Although I've noticed it happens more when I start to push to complete instead of double check...just like quicksand.

I recorded all my pedals yesterday in a row, just need to put the video together. I've had the guv'nor forever so it was crackling pretty good with dirty ass pots.... never really liked it on bass, but after comparing it with the others, it can hold its own. Might get it modded now....

Awesome! The Blower Box 1 was great! Makes me want to experiment with my Volt Thrower a bit. Also, the Gunslinger sounded pretty darn good. Might have to try mine on bass. Right now, it’s set for Iommi-esque goodness on my guitar board. And of course, the Metal Master! The HM-2 has slowly become my favorite circuit, even if it is a bit limited tone-wise. Wish I could use it more!

I know the feeling, I've learned it's better to have many "one trick ponies" than have one pedal that's always almost there. Especially since it's a pain to adjust settings throughout a whole show. I like set and forget or simple easy adjustments.
