You're all same, the lot of you. With your long hair and f***** clothes. And you hate the police

Apropos of nothing, does anyone else think it is weird that Electric Wizard's song "Barbarian" starts off with someone saying "the wizard"? Shouldn't it be something related to barbarians? F'ing stoners man, I swear.
Boult. They tanked and went belly up.What was that UK brand that was making some interesting Gibson RD style basses that people were posting about a while back?

Introduction: Hi. I'm a bass player, but also a drummer. Playing drums in a San Diego band called "Psylow". Just noticed this forum, as I've been slightly acquainted with the doom/stoner/desert thing, but never really "got into" it. Now, fully immersed. Just saw COC/Crowbar/Weedeater/Mothership a couple of weeks ago. Thought I'd include a little gear shot....
Huh. Well, there's no accounting for taste. I liked everyone better than Weedeater. I was really impressed with Mothership. Dead simple songs, but they meant it and made me have a good time.Saw that same lineup in OKC. Gotta day weedeater was my favorite out of all three
For sure, they had a ton of energy definately a good time. Just a little more southern rock than my taste. Weedeater was just as gross and terrible sounding as i wanted them to be. Just a wall of fuzzy mudd with no treble to be found.Huh. Well, there's no accounting for taste. I liked everyone better than Weedeater. I was really impressed with Mothership. Dead simple songs, but they meant it and made me have a good time.
Exactly why pay to play venues are still lurking around. People like us, know why we shouldn’t play at these places. But youngsters with starry eyes and supportive parents, will continue to “rent” these venues. There was a TB general thread not too long ago about a cover band being asked to play a 6 hour event for $500. Regardless of your feelings in cover bands, there is always someone waiting in the wings to jump on a $500 payday.I've had a feeling that was possible, but never heard about it first hand...what a load of poopie. Won't keep me from buying and I always try to only buy at shows or Bandcamp, band website, etc. to maximize a bands profit, but damn that's ****** up.
@socialleper I agree, it's because there's always another "sap" that will take their place. I wouldn't doubt it if it kills off the whole market at some point, but there's so many young people that want to be a star I don't see it happening.
One things for sure though, I'm glad for places like Bandcamp for this exact reason.
Hey guys, I just added a POG 2 to my collection of pedals and was looking for some advice. I Jumped on it really without knowing too much about it since it was listed for just $150 due to a slightly bent preset knob; so I can't quite save presets but everything else works just fine. Really what happened is I saw Om and Al was using the POG2 so I bought it without thinking too much haha. I didnt pay attention enough to the settings at the time though, as I only saw the listing the day after!
Anyway, if anybody out there has general advice/tips for how to use this thing, that would be appreciated! The versatility is a little overwhelming and I don't want the tone to overpower the overall sound of the band when im using it. Right now I have it right after my dirty boost pedal and before all my drives. I feel like that's where it should go but I haven't had time to mess around with its location in the signal chain. See pic below.
Any and all input is appreciated!
awesome pedal but i could not get it to work in a band mix so i ended up selling it. i prefer it after the dirt to really help bring out the harmonics.
Yeah I can totally see how it can be difficult to use in a true band context. We just added a second guitarist ourself so that's not going to make it any easier haha. Probably end up using it on slower parts with less going on where the bass line takes over.
Gonna mess with putting it after my drive pedals tomorrow, so thanks for the input! Did you find yourself using the detune slider a whole lot? Wondering how practical that and the -2 octave are going to be in C Standard.
i don't recall if i used it much or not.
part of the issue for me is the ampeg 810 has such a limited frequency response that it simply could not reproduce a lot of the sounds coming from the pedal at loud enough volumes. something more full range would help or even sonething more PA-like would work better like Greenboy cabs.
Any fans of the Hidden Hand in here?
Quality recording and top-notch performance:
Can anyone identify the amps and cabs they're using?
Behind Bruce, I think I see a Mesa head on top of some kind of 810, and an Acoustic head and cab. No idea what's behind Wino.
not to derail the thread but i just realized that Robert has been in Metallica longer than Jason was...that's F'd up
