Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

This is great. Loving it so far. Up the good work!

Thanks man. This has been in the works for quite a while. After an unsuccessful search for other musicians for almost 2 years I was just like screw it and went solo for awhile which went decent enough. Couple months back hooked up with a sweet drummer I used to play in a few different bands with and he's really brought a whole new dimension to the stuff I've been writing. We play really well off each other. That demo was actually a single, largely improvised take which is why the timing is kind of whack in some places. We're going to refine this tune and some others we have and eventually put out a legit EP or album hopefully.

I guess my best friend just OD'd. FML.
That is horrible. Sorry to hear it.

On another glorious note I've finally pushed the soon to be ex-wife to the point that we will be going to the mediator and hash out this divorce soon. All it took was refusing to turn on the air conditioner in the house. We’ll see how it turns out. I’ll likely take in in the ***. We’ll see if she takes the wellbeing of our daughter to heart.
I just got out of a six year deal in December. We have a daughter who is 4. We never married but in KS common law is a thing. So far we have kept it out of the courts but occasionally she gets mad about this or that and tries to keep my daughter from me. Fortunately I am the responsible one so it never lasts more than a couple of days. My daughter and my lives are so peaceful now, I totally love it. Good luck!

Good time in Chicago this weekend. Lots of good food and drink. Any time I can get to Portillo's is a good time. Made it to Kuma's and tried out the High on Fire burger, which I was drawn to not only for the name but also the sriracha sauce. Awesome chow. Also hit up Reckless Records to grab some cheapo 70s rock LPs (plus some Earth):

That Genesis album has got some awesome basslines. The Return of the Giant Hogweed is so fun to play

Might pick this up to along with the Vulcan this weekend, looks a decent project bass, the bridge is looking ****** but he says the frets, neck, and pick ups are in great condition.

Or maybe I'll have bad luck like with my last Kramer which was a modded 650b, had a warped neck.

Lots of cool poopie in your neck of the woods.

My great uncle chased my uncle and scared the poopie out of him when he was a kid by holding up that Edgar winter album like a mask lol.

So went to the practice space to do some solo riffing and droning for my birthday...smoked and then ended up cleaning the while night. I vacuumed, wrapped up cords, cleaned up the mountain of speakers, wipped the table down, cleaned and restocked the fridge. But it looks nice now, it was starting to get a bit dirty and disheveled, so that was a nice birthday treat. Now let's see if anyone notices...

Nice group of discs... I have the two in the middle. Frankenstein is one of the best test songs for a full range audio system there is.
Envy you guy snow in the Midwest especially near Chicago. I must go to Kumas next time I'm in town.
Spent three years in the suburbs and we moved out before my Sr. year of high school.
Happy to be back in Cali but missed out graduating with all my friends. 30 year reunion is coming up. Yeah I’m and old fart.

Yeah a lot awesome stuff has been popping up, if I was a guitarist I'd be in heaven, endless cabs and heads.

Yeah I'm getting pretty geeked about what they'll sound like together, assuming the neck on 450b is solid, probably throw my fender style hipshot on there and put my Steve Harris flats on it and see if it holds C#

That bridge will clean up... It could hold the tune without hacking it... Remind me to take a pic of mine... It is single pickup version. Need to rebuild the pickup... So I put an EMG 35 in its place. Someone also sharpened the horns. You guys will love it. ;)
