Last year's Fire in the Mountains Fest used a bunch of Atlas cabs. The sound coming from those cabs seemed damn good to me.

That's good to hear, integrity is hard to come by in a lot of businesses. The funny thing is that he'll probably make more off selling the 4x15 (if you get it) to you because he was honest.
Working on the customer end, I see that crap all the time where they just sell you on the one for the money or margin. But that simple honesty led to free advertising and brand marketing. Now a chunk of people know about him that didn't before, and have more reason to do business with him.
Never did get the dishonest people. Maybe they think everyone is dumb, but they're only worried about making the most money today not tomorrow. That's the dumb thing.
Wow killer looking cabs, excellent value too. Prices compare well with mass produced cabs.

To me, it just sounds like some open chord strumming with a hard attack and some sweet dirt.

Any confirmation links? Where did you hear this? Would love a new HM-2. I still think nothing quite nails it like the old Boss ones, though many are likely indistinguishable in the mix.
Anybody ever find out they really prefer a certain clipping diode? Just looking at my pedals and doing various shootouts and realized on almost all of my pedals I use MOSFETs for clipping. I don’t know what all of my pedals use for diodes, but I use MOSFETs in my Volt Thrower, Pharaoh Supreme, ODB, and Gunslinger. I think the B3K is some sort of MOSFET too. Wonder if the Pork Loin has MOSFETs?

Based on the pedals I have tried so far, I have a strong preference for silicon, apparently.

Guess I love all sorts of FETs! I definitely like the old DOD BiFET Boost too.
(Also, Boba Fett, but that’s another story entirely.)
I think that’s #2 for me. Really had a tough time choosing between those on my Pharaoh. They sounded very much similar on my preferred settings.

I have a Swede on my guitar board! As well as some old school Boss HM-2s on other boards.
Got an Iron Pig today. It’s a fantastic box. Gotta say this about Earthbound Audio - their pedals are just the easiest to dial in. I don’t know why, but the Super Collider ‘71 and Iron Pig just sound great with little tweaking. I don’t always think they have the absolute best tone (not that they are at all bad, they’re great!), but for the amount of tweaking I have to do on other boxes, it’s quite refreshing to just plug in and have an awesome tone in a few minutes. Amazing.
