Awful but strange. Not in a good way, but still strange
It makes a sort of WHOOOOOM instead of having an intelligible low end I may want to use this crap, maybe.
Also, the EHX Metal Muff. Nothing special.
(In case you're wondering: yes, my drummer is a metalhead )

Was browsing instagram last night and saw this post of a PB from Aaron of YOB. I tried to peek at what him and Mike were using last time I saw them, but I didn't get a good look and opted to get in the merch line. I think he posts on TB from time-to-time, but not sure.

I only recognize the Brassmaster, the Iron Ether Nimbus and the Annex one, what's the other stuff?

The Nobel is a preamp; Cali 78 is a compressor, I think that’s a MKII Bender, but I can’t be sure. Tuner, and the big EQD box is a router/blend/do all kinds of crazy stuff with your signal chain box. I’m not sure what the top row second pedal from the left is.

I actually use that for a cheap board I have that is all old-school DOD. It makes a decent Iommi-ish tone with the highs at 9. Ridiculously heavy tones, for sure, and regarded somewhat poorly, but there’s are great tones if you want to spend time tweaking. Don’t be afraid of odd knob settings.

So I got an older GK 400RBiii in the mail today. After all the Ampeg, Markbass, and Aguilar I’ve owned, this amp is by far my favorite already. I’m going in the am to trade a Highway One Jazz for a GK neo 212 and a little cash. Hoping for a killer setup.

Oh, and if anyone wants to get fairly close to western Kentucky, I’ll make you a hell of a deal on an Aguilar 212! Lol

GK is no joke. Used to only GAS for Ampeg, then I played GK. Never looked back. My 400RB-IV still amazes me.

I remember having an SVT-P, 3 Pro, 5, a MB Little Mark 3, one of their 112 combos, Aguilar TH and AG, early 00s Fender solid state stuff, Madison (anybody remember them?), and I’m sure some more. Nothing has the clarity and overall tone like this GK. I’m more impressed by this bass head than I’ve ever played.

Edit: now I still need that Ampeg V4B to go with it and bi-amp.

New Monolord is really good! Maybe my favorite.

I have to agree. They finally delivered an album that isn't padded out. I thought Rust had great songs, but there were several songs that were basically playing a riff into the ground for 6 or 8 minutes. No Comfort doesn't have any filler.

I have the Neo 412 and 800rb. Love them.

i'll give it a listen. i've never liked any of their albums. i found them to be very not heavy and a snorefest mostly. i liken them to teenagers that just discovered fuzz pedals and downtuning, they think they can just play the dumbest riffs and it would still sound heavy.

They were rad last night! It was my third time seeing them, always one of my favs. Takeshi was playing a lot more guitar compared to the other two times I've seen them. Also, he and Nagata were singing a lot more harmonies.

The tour opener, Uniform, were awesome too! They are a guitar, Vox/noise, and drums and sounded like kids who grew up hardcore-punk and love Ministry. The guitarist had Melvins tone (vintage EGC lucite guitar into Acoustic Amps through 15's) but was playing these super fast and precise thrash lines that cut and the drummer beat the hell out of his drums. I heard they opened for Deafheaven on a recent tour.

Wife and I saw Russian Circles on Thursday, awesome show! Heavy as hell, granted not stoner/doom but awesome, loud and with an aluminum neck Kramer!

I wish I could have snagged some shots of their pedal boards as I'm super into the sort of ambientish post metal stuff, but oh well. Plus I got an awesome shot of the performance just to piss @oZZma off. ;P

dude it's been a week and I'm still riding the Boris high. i was really blown away at the musicianship and execution and yet it never felt forced or unnatural. just fluid and well thought out.

Took that SWR combo back to GC today. Doesn’t even come close to that 400RBIII I got yesterday.
