Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

One thing I definitely do to maintain my sanity is stay away from things like Twitter. It is a dumping ground of human $#!+. I don't understand why anyone uses it.
I stay away from all social networks. I hate them all.
When we will be ready to release our EP I know it will be war with my drummer, because I know he will want to have a band page on all the crap sites I can't wait to see imploding.

I quit TV and a lot of other stuff a few years ago. After regaining the ability to think for myself again, I find that my bullsh1t detector is a lot more accurate and at the same time infinitely more sensitive to the smell :cigar:

Anyway HAY GUYZ I totally made a weirdo binaural field recording rig. It's two old school Realistic PZM mics on plexiglass panels, going into a Zoom recorder. I only tested it a few feet in front of a drum kit but so far it sounds pretty good.

I'd like to know more about it! What's the plexiglass for?

This is right up my alley. What's the spacing between the mics?

Not sure but it ended up being wider than a human head's width. If you want I can measure it later. I had the PZMs already and they actually sound a lot better with two 6v batteries vs. a single AA. Haven't bothered converting them to XLR or for 48v because I'm lazy. The middle part is a couple of wood fence post/banister cap things with some flange/table mic mounts slapped on them. I'm gonna do some more f'ing around with it this weekend for sure.

I was just curious. What's the intended use for this?

I thought that but it doesn't seem to make sense in this context.
It kind of does if you take a look at some of the general attitudes they have towards a number of things, how they treat people (esp women) in this case.

Oh noes, there goes mah safe space...
Except in the sense that they are not us... this is the "safe place" on TB, so to speak? That's how I kind of made it work in my mind...

Pmuch. I generally have the communication skills of a log so sometimes I'll try to crack jokes and uh, it doesn't work. That whole engineers sense (or lack of...) of humor thing. -_-

Anyways, uh, I'm 99% joking, that tinnnyyyyyy little 1% is going to involve sending someone a lot of pine trees or sending my wife to "talk" with someone

Ah, I see now :(

I've never read spent any time in the thread so didn't know any of that. I'll fall back to what I said earlier:
49 year old me is constantly and consistently let down by my fellow human beings.

Sorry you had/ have to endure that kind of :poop:
