Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

poopie I didn't know he's in town! Luckily it's at the Fillmore so I can skip it in good conscience (I hate that venue). Not trying to rain on your parade though...I hope it's a great show.

I passed on seeing Incubus and Torche when they were last in town, solely because of my very same hatred for that building. Again - not meaning to rain on his parade...

I understand the concept, I just said it's "crazy to me." I suppose this illustrates exactly why there are dozens of threads arguing over it.

Yep, funny how there's so many people that can't handle have a discussion or disagreement without aknowledging that another opinion is just as valid as theirs. Reminds me of the extremes and inability to compromise of so many in politics.

This is why this thread is badass, we don't agree on everything and no one seems to have issues with anyone holding a different opinion.

Any of yall mess around with an idiotbox effects - dark waves? Dark Waves Echo Chorus
I'm looking for a weird, glitchy chorus that is smaller than my 80's univibe but has plenty of weird.

Great work. Really groovy, mixes and transitions pretty smoothly between different subgenre influences. What is the name of the band?
Did the instrument levels and mastering presentation work for you? I'm not trying to do something avant garde with the production. I would like it to sit right next to any other modern metal song and not have people think it was recorded on a DIY system in a garage.
Second Shooter.

It worked for me. But if your goal is a modern metal sound, i think adding more high mids to the guitars would make it more modern sounding

(And because it’s making me jump through hoops to post a pic, here’s the link instead...)

I have one, it's been a while since I used it but it does pretty much what it says on the tin; chorus with a dash of echo. Personally I'm way too stuck on the Boss chorus sound and it doesn't really sound like a Boss; now that you mention it maybe I should revisit it soon.

I can usually ignore the most of the dumb normal TB stuff, but there is a thread on the main page where a guitar player who is new to bass is looking for a cab for his vintage bassman head. No one bothers to ask them what kind of situations they are playing in. Lots of responses of sell the head and buy class D. Several "you need at least 500 watts to gig out" responses.

Makes me very grateful for this thread and the thoughtful responses that are always given.
