I’m in the minority I know, but I could not get along with that pedal. Maybe I’m just not an OCD guy. Same with the VT, but it was much better. I’m still rather interested in one of the Magic-built HM-2s, though.

To my ears it sounds amazing on my P (w/GZR pup) and a pick. Has that killer attack & bite that can hang with multiple guitars in a band.

I am an unabashed fan boy of the modded Pork Loin. The P&P I have yet to try. From what I can recall, most people did not dig the same settings on both sides, so it wasn’t that great if you need OD and fuzz. But either side can sound great (again, from what I hear). A main complaint was also that the OD/fuzz toggle is norm footswitch, and people who wanted to be able to switch in the fly cannot do so easily.

Wow, haven't posted here in five years. :thumbsdown: Been lurking around from time to time though. Haven't really played bass either in a loooong time, but recently a good friend of mine started playing drums again and I've had a few good jam sessions with him. I'll try to remember to snap a pic of the rig I'm using the next time I go to our rehearsal space.

Much busier with the bands I play drums for. Murder Hollow has had quite a few line-up changes, but we have the material ready for the next release. The StoneGazer debut album is coming out in a couple of weeks. First time my playing is released on vinyl too, which has been a long time dream of mine. We also made a zero budget video for one of the songs.

Two down, three to go.

Upgraded the DOD 250 to use a standard center negative DC jack, an illuminated switch, and true bypass. Though it originally had the signal going straight from input to output when off, it also ran into the circuit regardless. I doubt it caused any tonal loss but I figured why not fix that up, it can't hurt. I was switching out the switch anyway.

The glowy one is a routing utility. Takes a stereo input A+B, an extra mono input C, and gives a stereo output. Can effectively get it to output A+B, A+C, B+A, C+A, A+A, and C+C. All passive operation, so the splitting comes at a loss of volume but I don't expect to be using that mode much regardless.

I'd been curious about the pork and pickle myself, thanks for the thoughts.

@Grahams Groove I did the same with Fu Manchu for so long. Then I bought the action is go and it changed everything. I do admit that the earlier stuff is best in my opinion, but Gigantoid is also pretty good. To me it seems as if throughout their whole discography, random deep cuts of theirs are gems.

I'm not sure why they don't mark it more distinctly, but this is their modded loop with a different sounding clean low and an "unbuffered" loop for old school fuzzes. It's insane. "It loses too much lows" is no longer a thing I say about most dirt pedals. So worth it.

I know I have no time during the day...I need to do the same. Though seeing my son's face light up when he hits the drums, cymbals n poopie gets me through the day.

Let us know how you like the VCR, been avoiding em cuz of the Ryan Adams but I love the idea of the pedal. Granted I've been avoid JHS pedals too. Both times I met the owner, he really turned me off.

Lately I've been on the fence between just getting a full blown POG2 or trying a WA Luminary. Anyone try one of those?

I run a HOG2, the POG2's big sib. It's an amazing machine and one of my centrepieces! I got it when considering a POG2 and a Superego+, and then I saw that the HOG2 had some freeze effects available and got that instead. Then I got a Superego+ after a while anyway :laugh:

Some of my favourite uses:
  • Fully wet with a tiny bit of glissando using the expression pedal
  • Harmonising in 6ths and 9ths (step bend up from +5th/+1oct)
  • Power chord into distortion, a classic
  • -1 and +1, gets a cool synthetic but still quite natural-sounding timbre
Strongly recommend looking through this demo, the POG2 should be similar enough:

I got a buddy that has that. I was way impressed, but it's way more than I need I think. Though sound is the most important so maybe I should borrow it.

I may mess with it for other things, but the only thing I really need one for is the octave up. In the duo with my drummer buddy I use it as a guitar split through a separate rig so natural sound is key. Or at least not harsh.

In the other band that's on hiatus for a while, I used it as rhythm so our guitarist could do lead work.

I loved the tracking on the micropog I had, but I had to roll the tone off on my bass to get it to sound right. Then my bass signal was too soft. The SubnUp was great, but something sounded off. Probably should have dived deeper into the editor, but I just couldn't EQ/filter out the weird artifacts.

I was hoping to go with something smaller than the pog2 like the luminary or even smaller. Both have the LPF that can eliminate a lot of the harsh artifacts, but who knows.

it sounds easy but a gool LPF can be tricky. you'll find getting a smooth taper can be challenging.

Today's project: two 4x TRS over Cat5e/Cat6! Almost there, as this should be last thing I need to put under my board. Muff's gonna take a bit more effort, but it won't be hard to install.

In other news, I'm definitely getting an Empress comp v2 for the sake of saving space.

Can you explain the Cat5e boxes? Just a fancy TRS box? Not sure I get it.
