Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

What do you mean, you hear the same problem in both tracks when each is soloed?Both mics are centered and perpendicular to the cone, it's one cab with 2 identical speakers...
I tried soloing each track and maybe it's not a phase problem actually, 'cause I hear an "inconstancy" in both tracks even when played separately
Maybe it's not even the mics after all. I don't know what to think anymore.
I should've mentioned it before, but if you could share an example of the audio that might help a lot in trying to zero in on the problem.

On that cab I am using an ambient mic too (and makes a huge difference on that cab so I'd prefer not to cut it out), I may try to deaden excessive reflections tho... I have never studied how to dampen a room properly but maybe it's time
I sold mine and already regret it. Almost bought that one. It’s probably the best class D there is. Super loud, great slam and most pedal friendly amp I’ve almost ever played.
Pretty glad to hear that you guys like the Quilter for our kind of music I'm going to trade my Fender Pro 1200 because it weighs a metric tone and I've been using my Tech 21 Geddy Lee for my base tone and replace it with a Bass Block 802. I can't stress enough to everybody how amazing the Geddy Lee pedal is for super deep lows. I only got to use it on one track of my bands album and its noticeably a cooler tone.

Work is crazy, I kicked the 250 off my board and the Mic Mechanic is on it now because of how much vocal stuff I'm starting to do.
We're recording some isht at a studio in Aug, so I'm looking forward to that. Hoping it isn't going to suck too much...

Feeling like I'm just listening to the same five or so bands over and over and getting a bit bored. Are there any cool acts I might've missed out on that are pushing the genre in their own way like Conan, SubRosa, or Bell Witch for instance?
Here are a few recent releases that come to mind (though I'll confess that lately I've been floundering a bit in terms of keeping up with new stuff):
I second Insect Ark.
Also,
Forming the Void - doom, but with middle eastern vibes in the leads and an approach that I couldn't mistake for anyone else.
Demonic Death Judge - sludge with a bunch of nods to classic rock, pysh, even spaghetti western soundtrack type stuff.
Eagle Twin - such a unique sounding band. Definitely doom, but I'm hard pressed to name anyone that sounds similar to them.
High Priestess - great musicians, multipart clean female harmony vocals and lots of non-pentatonic riffage and solos.
Messa - completely unique. Guitar has this bluesy SRV vibe, powerful female vocals, distinctive songwriting.
Spaceslug - Polish spacey Doom thats used black metal blast beats, post rock, classic rock and electronic type sounds sprinkled here and there. Very cool

Gonna listen to these while packing up my apartment this afternoon.
I still haven't listened to the new In The Company Of Serpents album (but I love them and I'm excited for the collaborative 3 piece approach on this album) I am trying to find a time when I can crank it through the speakers, but it's tough during a pandemic... wife and kid are always home!
Maybe more doom-adjacent, but Imma pimp some local legends here anyway.

So youre using 2 mics on the cab on different speakers and one in the room? Id probably still recommend just blanketing it off and running through once just to s3e if it gets rid of that unwanted noise. If it does then you know adding some fiberglass panels will do you good. If it doesnt get rid of it thwn you know its not a resonant frquency in the room and it might be a resonation with the cab itself. I had issues with that on our songs i ended up having to add reinforcement to my baffle brace and an extra screw on the rear panel to the brace to make it more rigid.
