Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Hola amigos, rapped at ya something something doom stoner something.

REALLY going to try to call it quits after this one, kind of a bucket list bass as weird as it looks. I could never find one in black so I had to do it. It needed some help, but turned out ok.

The doom lab is pretty much ready to go now at chez cornfarmer, hopefully in the next week or 2 I can get another song done that I've been working on for a few months....between Bebé cornfarmer jr. and moving, waiting on panels to be built, then being evacuated there has been sheeeeit time to do anything. Gotta light a fire under a buddy who's working on vocal parts and then I'll have a 4 or 5 song EP thing on bandcamp done.

Never knew Jolana made a Ric! That's sweet, is that a burns I see too? The lounge looks bad ass.

I’ve always felt Danelectro pedals were underrated. And I LOOOOVE DOD stuff.

So true, both are probably at the top of price:amazing tone ratio of any pedals made.

I do know the Ron Swanson Fuzz from Idiotbox is a straight-up Univox superfuzz.

Well God damn, I wanted to pick one up just to have a Ron Swanson on a pedal. I gotta make this happen.

Badass clip too, thanks for that! I see why you dig the phaser so much with it too.

50 years ago today. Damn.

It never ceases to amaze me how incredibly ahead of their time they were. The term "ahead of their time" gets thrown around a lot, but with Sabbath it really means something. They were making music that is heavy even by today's standards way back then...unreal.

I agree, and the replay value is insane. Doesn’t get old. When I was a teenager I use to drink beer and listen to it on repeat.

Hey guys!

Its good to be back with you all. I just have a quick question about amps. I'm in the market for a new head and I'm leaning towards the GK Legacy 800. The Fusion is also on my radar for the tube preamp.

The current project I'm in is Tool and prog influenced, plus I love the "GK Sound". Would this head be a good fit for any stoner projects I can get off the ground in the near future? I do have Vintage Microtubes and Bass Big Muff at my disposal for dirt and ive dropped some (not-so) subtle hints to fiancée that I'd like a Sansamp under the Christmas tree this year.

You guys have been extremely helpful to me in the past, so I trust you all. What do you guys think?

any amp will do, cabs are more important to the overall tone and volume. the OG RB800 is a classic and can be had for quite cheap so why not go for the real thing. the legacy seems a little wimpy compared to the original

Noted. I'd love to own an OG amp but I need the headroom on the newer amps. Plus there aren't that many available on Reverb. I'm definitely gonna try to grab on in the future though.

Hope all you beautiful people are having a good day <3

Yeah, so far, so good. How are you?

idem! How's the cello doing?
Unfortunately the course I applied for fell through and the arrangers didn't tell me until I contacted them in late august. I'm going to look for a one-on-one tutor again, but the course falling through was a bit demotivating as that was my backup plan in case I couldn't get a teacher during my vacation and I haven't had the energy to work on that front. Work has kept me busy enough and I'm not a person who has all that much spare energy.

Yeah, so far, so good. How are you?
I'm doing great lately, thank you! Have made a lot of progress on a long-term project at work lately, and I've also gotten past some major medical hurdles. Things are coming together, y'know :)

why you gotta make me feel all warm and fuzzy this morning
I like my friends the way I like my riffs :^)

Certainly. I used an old GK 800rb for a long while, and use a Quilter Bassblock now.

Hey guys. I know we have a few Colorado doomers on here so I wanted to get y'all's opinion on what the best areas to go day hiking/ seeing some beautiful places are. I was thinking a night or 2 in Denver, then another couple nights out in a more secluded area then finish it off near Mesa Verde what do y'all think?

Sorry about the non-doom/ bass topic but I figured you guys would be best to ask.
