Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

What the world needs now is for everyone to post pictures of their pets.

Here's Raymond, our biggest and oldest, relaxin'

Here's AJ, the youngest and bravest (and a little bit of a jerk), perched on a shower head just above my head height.

And here's the newest, Estelle. She was a stray that I pet and fed outside until yesterday, when I finally crammed her in a cat carrier and took her to the vet. She finally forgave me and came out from under the bed after 24 hours. We're cool now, and she's slowly getting accustomed to the other two maniacs.

If only I had more likes to give.

Please, I'm in Denver, come kidnap our cats. I can't get rid of them because my wife likes them, but I know she wouldn't replace them if they disappeared. Living with cats during covid is making me insane! AhhhAHHH!
You have no idea how serious I would take that plan. I have more space in my house than I need and filling it with cats sounds awesome.

Hehehe, that's kind of how we've become by accident. In the last few months we went from 1 cat to 3. AJ was found by my singer in their neighbor's eaves and I brought him home, then a couple of months later I bring Estelle inside. My wife's stated several times that her limit is 3 cats, anything else is crazy cat lady territory. I tell her that I didn't intend to work us up to 3, but I don't think she believes me.

Technically these are my parent's dogs but darn it I miss them.

This is Peedee, she craves attention and is smart enough to understand cameras are a form of that. Unfortunately she doesn't understand good angles!

Me and my gf are trying to get a rescue for our first pup together so if the time comes I'll put pics of whoever that'll be up here too since there's so many animal lovers here! I think I have to agree with @lucas303 with this being the best page so far!

I made a post of my own. I'm prepared to be deafened by silence.

I've been thinking about seeing if my last project's singer (who's now without a band) wants to try putting something new together. We talked about it a bit a couple months ago, but we both work in elder care and we're both kind of petrified we could pass on COVID to one of the old folks we look after.

Wading into the murky waters of Craigslist again to try to find people to jam with...wish me luck.

Hey, don't despair too much. The guitarist for the surf band I was in was found as the drummer had hit the end of his rope and was going to give up on the cavalcade of crazy people he was getting responding to his ad. He ruled as a guitarist (the guy would pound out Slayer riffs while holding up his end of a conversation), and was generally a great guy to get along with. Once he moved away, we couldn't find an adequate replacement.

How do you get to have the intestinal fortitude and perseverance of my drummer? I have no idea. I imagine it requires a bit of a hard life. I ain't got it, so I'm glad I have him.

this is bird. I've had her for over ten years but she's only been a lap cat for about a year or so. my wife is convinced she's obsessed with me because whenever i leave the room she'll go to the door and cry until i come back, and when in sitting down she'll barely leave me alone (to the extent that I'll have to push her out of the way so that i can eat

and this is her half-brother bunny. he's an a-hole but likes to explore so when i had a house with a garage he'd just walk out with me and hang out as i worked

Random gear question - would one of those passive attenuators boxes for the FX loop give me more usable range on the volume knob? I’m thinking that my amp goes from too quiet to too loud in tiny bit of the knob (at max, I’m losing headroom at 10:00ish). If I use the attenuator, put it at 50% (or whichever) wouldn’t it make my volume knob more responsive and allow me to use more of its travel? This is guitar here, and I don’t care about power amp distortion. All SS circuits. Any negatives?

Man, I've never used the like button so much! Me and the misses have been on the fence for a dog for some time. She wants a golden doodle.

According to Sweetwater it's 6 7/8 by 4 1/2. Here it is on my board with other pedals and dog included for scale....

Which fuzz did you get, btw?

That's not bad for size at all! I finally broke down and got a Black Ash before the prices got too crazy. Anytime EQD does a limited run or discontinues a great dirt pedal prices sky rocket. Sorry don't have a photo right now.

I have to admit, I was a little uneasy buying it. But damn does it sound amazing! The top knob doesn't have the most range on bass, but does what it needs to perfect. Now I gotta find if this guy wants to make more clones. Not as much sizzle, but I'd buy one for sure.
