Anyhoo, back on topic. Anybody ever saw Such Hawks Such Hounds? It's not the best documentary ever, but it's quite interesting.
I've seen bits and pieces. Definitely was informative to me when I was first getting into stoner music
It's been on my watch later on YouTube for ages. There's one or two other documentaries about the palm desert scene, no? I did put some effort into mapping the scene out some while ago, it was quite the deep dive
Hey y'all! It's been a minute since I've been on here. Right before COVID hit, I was getting ready to have some paying gigs playing electric upright for some roots rock covers. And when gigs stopped being a thing, I decided to finally get around to recording a solo album. And seven months and a bunch of gear later, I just released my EP! It wound up pretty stoner-y, not as doomy as I had originally intended, and quite proggy. There were some speed bumps along the way. When the DAW that came with my interface (Ableton) wouldn't let me have more than 8 tracks, I switched to Reaper and watched a ton of YouTube tutorials to figure out how to use that. About 3/4 in, I realized I needed a guitar. And I may have bought a couple new pedals because I had an excuse to!
So I would absolutely love to hear what this community thinks!

No worries, I'm all for that. Her biggest condition of the pooch is a non shedder. Luckily we're not in a rush, so maybe I can push that more till we find the right one.
Consider a former racing greyhound, in that case. They don't have much fur to begin with, so shedding isn't much of an issue at all. Also they don't have an undercoat so people with allergies can usually be fine with them. They're great, really unique dogs...and much lazier than you might expect.
To me the word is "gloomy".
But maybe that's because I've been practicing upbeat afrocuban dance music all evening?
Hello, everyone!! Just here for my semi-annual drive-by post. I'll be lurking and catching up for a few days. Nothing really new to report, although, I did get a pretty sweet little parts bass from a TB'er. Short scale 3 +1 headstock, mounted on to a Yamaha BBG4 body with DiMarzio J's. Spezel locking tuners, and stock bridge. It was a fotoflame, that I stripped off with a heat gun and melted my pickups just a bit, lol. As well as slightly burning the body in a few places, so now it's been dubbed "Ol' Scorchy". Plays just fine as I'm noodling on the couch, and sounds good through the amp. Lots of upper end and harmonics on tap, so I either need to clean up the technique or slap some flats on it. Besides that, just livin' in the time of C-19.

A tonebender, rips hard too. Kinda reminds me of that ragged tone Neil would get with that old tweed. Has that ragged, gritty edge that cuts well but is somehow smooth in a way too. All the way from lower overdrive to just ripping fuzz.
I'm not crazy about having snob level components, but whatever they did with the design on this one they nailed it out of the park. Check out the video Andy from PGS/tone report for it.
