I saw a dirt cheap PD7 on ebay that's being sold for parts only because it's not working, so grab it and start tearing it apart!

Honestly, I'm thinking that much of the perceived improvement in the Pickle is due more to me learning my rig etc. the last few years, and especially the last few months. I remember liking it before, but wanting more "something" out of it. Now that I've had a few years under my belt, I think it will work nicely. I hate losing low end AND sacrificing note clarity, and most pedals I've played do one or the other to some extent. This is one of the first that I find does both well. Even my Pharaoh cut some lows to get the highs I preferred, though it seems slightly more aggressive in the distortion than the Pickle. Either way, I'm going to keep A/Bing them today. Yesterday was on my 400RB since that's where my Pickle will live, and today will be on the 700RB where my Pharaoh lives. If nothing else, the Pickle has made me re-evaluate the Pharaoh as my main fuzz, which has not happened in YEARS, as well as definitively kicked off the Iron Pig from my board. I'm impressed.

Ya know, I could see the same thing about knowing my rig more now. And you totally nailed it, it was like I was always looking for more even though it was great.

What's funny about that for me is I never really realized how loud most of my basses were till I had kids and played with headphones more often. My Jazz in particular, which turns out to have some weird set up for the pickups. The hum will cancel out with both on full, only when they're out of phase. They sound right in phase, but the hum will be there. But yeah grounding problems are such a pain!

I've been there. I'm not huge on the assembly part of it all. If anything I'd probably stick to making open source designs. I already work full time so running an assembly line in the two hours of spare time I have each night is not exactly on top of my priorities.

My wife saw this nailed to a tree early in the era of Covid. I've tried to take it to heart.

Yeah, but if he had somehow hooked up with the time travel group, maybe his co-worker reading books faster than him would have been less of a problem.

I'm not even going to get into how the nudists and their waffles might enter into this.

luckily I know that my taste is different. I'm just surprised that some albums are just available for pre-order. How do they know the rest of the album will also be the best of 2020 :)

editted to add: around three albums from the list I could very much appreciate, I call that a good score :D
