As an aside, the sputtery fuzz of doom on 'Sin's a Good Man's Brother" is absolutely savage.@ConfoundedBridg I know nothing about GFR other than the songs I've heard on the radio so I'm going to have to check it out more. Any songs in particular you'd recommend for getting an appreciation of Mel's sound?
I also heard a story (urban legend?) that roadies stood behind Mel's and Mark's stacks with oven mitts to change blown tubes mid-show. The amps ate tubes because of how hard they were driven 24/7. Those amps were built in Flint, MI just like the band.
