Red Album, Closer to Home. As an aside, the sputtery fuzz of doom on 'Sin's a Good Man's Brother" is absolutely savage.

I also heard a story (urban legend?) that roadies stood behind Mel's and Mark's stacks with oven mitts to change blown tubes mid-show. The amps ate tubes because of how hard they were driven 24/7. Those amps were built in Flint, MI just like the band.

I heard that about the amps, but never knew they were built in Flint too, way cool!

@kleinenenten that sucks, I have the same problem with one of my basses. If you get it resolved let us know. I've had zero time to troubleshoot mine.

Yeah West Amps or something like that. I think the same guy (or company?) also made Bob Seger's amps.

Also @br1qbat, I vaguely remember you talking about modifying the wiring harness on your EB-0. you said you clipped off one of the capacitors right? I'm planning on wiring mine like a 61-71 EB-0 (harness diagram below). Is yours one of those years? If it is which one did you clip? Just curious because you said you get more Jazzlike definition I believe. Does it still have the huge bottom end that it normally would?

I'm not entirely sure what last show was. I think it was Sleep? I know I had a drought of shows before the pandemic and I'm not one to think back to shows too much. My memory is only good for remembering that I had a good time, not what the time was like. The feeling of the tension before the start, the massive walls of sound, the real headbangers when you can feel the entire crowd shifting... It's not something my brain is able to synthesise. I also had a bunch of anxiety during the Sleep show and honestly couldn't enjoy it as much as I wish. My best concert memories are still Subrosa, Conan, and Om.

I know I must have caught a show before the shut down but I'm struggling to remember. There were a slew of shows I could have gone too in Jan and Feb but I was too lazy... now I am really regretting that. Opeth with Graveyard was a stupid one to miss. The last one I can say for sure is Wayfarer in December. That's all I got. I surprisingly don't miss going to shows that much right now. I was really going through withdrawal this summer, I go to a lot of shows normally, but I think I'm kind of over it. I have been thinking about it a lot and I don't really miss playing shows either. Last one I played was in December 2019 and I was sick as hell, loading gear in the cold... over it.

Yes. Mine's a 1970. More definition is relative. Lol. It still goes BOOM. The mids are more 'there' but it doesn't stop the lows at all. It is the .01 cap you can omit. You won't need to do anything else. It is what I'd call "more open". As 'open' as a stock m-bucker in the neck can be. Not jazz-like sqwonk. Think thick Ric 4003 neck pup. Kinda. The mudbucker is its own beast.

Another tip : Run the basses vol at 8 or so. Also helps a little.

I do, but it's too late to test out now, anyway. My tech said he'll replace the switch for free, so hopefully that's what it is and it's all done. If that doesn't work, I'm replacing all the electronics except the pickups. Those are some sweet Seymour Duncans, and I sure hope they didn't go bad somehow. They're worth more than any other part of the guitar, that's for sure.
