I'm in the "dislike" camp. For one thing, a pickup cover? Really? It's not like going for a vintage vibe is an excuse with this one because the headstock cancels that out (not saying there's anything wrong with the headstock, but there's nothing pickup-cover-type-vintage about it).
That's pretty awesome, I wonder if there's a forearm contour with the binding? I'd probably route out the bridge pickup area if needed and just mount a Ric bridge pickup. I dig how they're mashing things together, but the cover does kinda seem tossed on there for no reason than to "complete" the Ric knockoff look.

Sure, but at least IMO it's a different type of vintage than pickup covers. Like, a Model T and a '68 Charger are both "vintage," but I wouldn't want Model T wheels on the Charger.a case could be made that pointy headstocks are also vintage nowadays

On that note, I preordered the new Ibanez headless multiscale short scale in emerald green.
I feel the same way as @lucas303 about the PUP cover. If it were mine I'd take it off but otherwise that is a pretty sick looking bass I think. I'm a sucker for Green basses myself... which reminds me, did anything ever come about after Al Cisneros' OG Green sparkle Ric went up on CL? I remember Matt Pike's wife saying they were trying to get it but never heard or saw anything after.

Not gonna lie, I'm probably going to get one of those Jackson's down the road. Green for sure, though the one black pic I saw looked pretty bad ass. Been really looking at an active for some reason lately.
Nothing wrong with actives. It's all I got! In all honesty, I've never tried a passive. Love my Ibanez basses, never felt a compelling reason to diversify. Other brands I've played don't do it for me. Guess I'm a relatively simple player or something. I do have some different tones/pickups and whatnot in my basses, but all are in the Soundgear line. Best bang for the buck if you ask me.
Use what works for you, and never be ashamed! Me, I'm a P-bass guy.
Yeah soundgears are brilliant instruments. I regret selling mine some years ago - it was an SR905. I've only ever owned actives as well - currently got a Spector and Custom T'bird. I'm sometimes tempted to try a passive from some of the fuzz related comments and passive basses....but not enough to actually do anything about it!
Some positive news. Got a good lead on a new practice room. Roughly same price we were paying but a helluva lot bigger. Nearby to most of the venues downtown we [will??] play.
