By far, for me, the most relaxing and mellowing album for this genre is Om's "Advaitic Songs". Nodded off to it many times.View attachment 4373371
Super random question, but can anyone please recommend some good Doom/Stoner Metal bands to fall asleep to???…
Realized recently that a lot of my insomnia issues are most likely being caused by work stress so I’ve started listening to music on noise canceling headphones to fall asleep to distract me like I used to do in high school and college (kinda how I got into Type O Negative in high school-I would put on October Rust and try to relax and block things out of my brain)…
Not really sure how I got out of the habit of listening to music to fall asleep, but I did and I need to bring that habit back…
I realize a lot of the genre sounds good at ear crushing volumes, but there are only so many hours in the day to listen to loud music :-( and I feel like I need to listen to something more structured at work bc I find my mind wandering if I listen to Stoner Metal when I’m working…
I was listening to Warp Riders by The Sword the other night-The end the album had some borderline redundant riffs which really helped my mind relax some…
This list was helpful, but not very long and I know there’s gotta be more options than what’s on this list: 11 Great Space Rock + Metal Albums You Need To Know
Along the lines of that album-I have Googled “Space Metal Bands” so I have gone looking for other suggestions, but I would be curious if anyone else had suggestions for similar music to that album bc people on this thread have a lot better taste in music than most places I’ve found…
Dopes To Infinity by Monster Magnet is has a similar idea to that album, but beyond that I could use some guidance for other albums that sound similar (Hopefully the Space Rock/Metal description makes sense)…Just trying to find something that makes my mind wanna not focus on this planet as I’m trying to rest…
I plan on listening to Windhand bc I LOVE that chick’s voice and most of their stuff is pretty slow paced…Does anyone know of any other bands that sound similar to them???
No wrong answers here-Just looking for something somewhat hypnotic to listen to at the end of the day…
Thanks! \m/
Harp Girl, I'd like you to meet Dutch Flamingo.I want to marry Harp Girl.
@El_Charro Maybe something like Sunn O))) would fit the bill? Or Earth? I wouldn't call either of them spacey but they could be good to zone out to.
Also check this out:
—————-Anyone make a Sleep joke yet? Om may be a better bet, though.
——————-Some pelican stuff I could see going to sleep to and a bunch of post rock.
And black label society, I fell asleep during them at ozfest many years ago.
BRB, selling all my bass gear and switching to harp (do not under any circumstances miss the awesomeness at 2:40):
I'll see you at the Stoner/Doom thread on Talkharp.com.
She's a cutie, but she ain't no Moth-Girl.I want to marry Harp Girl.
Feeling a bit down over the last couple of days. I broke my own rule and read the news. Since I'm of the "glass half empty (and the rest is of poison)" type, I need a bit of good news. Help me out.
Okay here's the real good news:
Second Sunn 0))), Earth, also recommend Zaum and BongView attachment 4373371
