First Hobbit movie was kinda meh. Think it mainly sets the stage for the other two. Second one was freaking awesome. Sure the whole series is a cash grab but who cares. So is any hollywood movie.

well, the pickings were pretty slim for the doom stuff at the library, which is where I test drive a lot of CDs before I spend my dough.

First Hobbit movie was kinda meh. Think it mainly sets the stage for the other two. Second one was freaking awesome. Sure the whole series is a cash grab but who cares. So is any hollywood movie.

My biggest issue was the movie was much more Shrek than LOTR. The dwarves in the book were a noble and serious race, where in The Hobbit, they are made out to be the 12 Stooges.

I like the jam-band vibe, lots of good grooving, interesting bass work, and lots of guitar solos, which I dearly love. I really enjoy listening to Warren Haynes' guitar playing, although, the slide work does get boring pretty quick. These guys, and some of the other jam bands, in a roundabout way led me to heavy blues music, which led to more psychedelic guitar based music, which led me to stoner rock. And so here I am.
