- Band rehearsal. First in at least six weeks, I seriously hope I remember the songs.

- Glad I don't have to work in this punishing heat for two days.

- Happily continuing to build a Mandola. Maybe I'll even get done before the end of Summer.

Same for the first two, but I have two left hands, so it's a no for the third for me. But this heat makes me understand the desert rock vibe a lot better. Yesterday our jams where way more grooving than normal

Getting the tire off the rim (and on again) is such a specific skill, that general handiness hardly comes into play.

I think I've been able to do it reliably since my mid thirties. That was a matter of some pride: here in the Netherlands you're expected to do this on your own if you're 18 or up.

as with everything in life : good tools help. Most tire kits come with terrible rim-and-outer-tire-separators.

I like the Pedro's tire levers for bike/wheel/tire stuff. I run tubeless on my mtb's so they're usually a giant pain in the ass to the tire to debead.

I'm not much of a photographer, so I didn't take any in action. Also, I have terrible balance, so if I had tried to take a picture, I'd have either fallen over and gotten trampled or just gotten trampled as I tried to get one off the sidelines. But here's the official website with a video etc. It's a yearly tradition around here. This year I did the "long" ride - 16 miles. Not sure what that is in km for you sensible European folk...

Elder was absolutely worth the drive up to Ft. worth to see!

And I forgot which one of us mentioned Dreadnought, but I went in without familiarizing myself with their music and was absolutely FLOORED. That is an excellent band on multiple levels.

16 miles. Not sure what that is in km for you sensible European folk...

km = miles x 1.6
16 x 1.6 = 25.6
16 miles = 25.6 km

Glad you dug Dreadnought. They kick serious butt. Really nice folks too (not that I'm cool enough to be friends with them...I've just talked to them in passing a few times as a fan).

Not much bass-centric stuff to post today. About zero, to be honest. I just don't have the interesting bass-life as many here do. In non-bass related music stuff, I gor my wife and I tickets to see Old 97s, and Nikki Lane (different shows).

On many days, my "interesting bass -life" consists of telling a colleague or a client that I'm in a band.

I'm about to start looking for a jazz teacher or someone else to work on developing my ear (its bad) and general theory. Or maybe a guitar teacher, because outside of making guitar noises on the thing... I can't play the thing for the life of me.

In bass news... HOPEFULLY my P bass shows up today, but who knows with fedex.

Nope, LOL.
The FF ibby is prob going back to my buddy and I'll prob hold onto his Dingwall 5 for a while both to fix and see if i want to buy it off of him...

The P bass was 100% an impulse buy LOL.
