HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Looking at a DOD 250 and Boss DS-1, and it comes in a bit cheaper....how much of that Matamp is 'really' inside the pedal is anyone's guess. This seems like something for the psychofans. I'll admit I was tempted to click on buy when I heard the first riff, then I started hearing the fizzzzz. Almost drunk-bought it. I'm only on my first gin & tonic.

I need to go hook the Gunslinger + Metal Master combo up again, because that f-ing doomed pretty hard.

I regret selling my gunslinger, such an awesome pedal! Cheap, or at least it was last I looked and so underrated!

DOD makes/made so many great pedals. I've trimmed my collection down considerably, but they're still one of my favorite effects companies.

For sure, one of my favorite brands too. So many underrated pedals.

It sounded like a future quasi-project, from the thread. I bet if you cloned the cab out of better wood, it might very well wake up the sound even more. OSB is not the best acoustic material if I recollect. Did it have internal damping material?

Yeah, I don't have photos, but there's pics of the inside on the web and it looks like the typical 1 inch thick dampening material. I'm hoping if my quick calls are right that I can make it from a single sheet of ply. Might need a second piece for a thicker baffle, but I'll see when the time comes.

I'm hoping to get a bass project of mine off the ground asap, then start this one. @cornfarmer I'll definitely put something together. Cabs aren't particularly hard from my recollection. Especially if you have one to model from.

I've been shopping around for PA stuff for our studio and man... Stuff went up by a lot $$$ lately for all that stuff. And I just need a couple 12's to run vox through! I'm really hoping to not end up with a couple berries, but I'll keep shopping around. I'm trying to hold out for some QSC k12.2's but I don't think we'll be able to wait that long because we have a new vocalist we're trying to get up to speed on everything and they're inaudible with our current gear.
Next sesh we'll be playing with more EQ stuff to see what we can do to improve the performance of our existing gear but I'm not holding out hope.
I have one more song I'm working on getting down for the metal band, but its getting close to being ready with it, hopefully our new vocalist will be able to work something with it lyric wise but who knows.

Also debating going out and hunting down a 215 or something to keep at the rehearsal spot for the dad-rock band, The guys in that project were awesome and got me a bunch (9 so far) of new tracks without bass so I have some practice material. I've got four of em to a gig-able point, and I'm working on getting the next four down to a point where they're sounding good. There's still one that needs a bit more work on the arrangement side, but its getting close.

That's been a fun project because its just straight ahead hard rock, so nothing crazy hard or complex and I have to use some milder tones or even *gasp* clean tones, but its been fun.

We use 1 Yamaha speaker [i think its a 15 with a horn] in our room as floor monitor. Only speaker i have hooked up to PA and it works great for practice.

I have the same sentiments about my DOD Boneshaker that I let go of. It was a fantastic pedal for bass that gets overlooked a lot like the other modern DOD pedals because they didn’t actively market to bass players as much as they could have.

I really wanted to like my Boneshaker, but I felt the depth knob was useless. It was a good pedal, and I may pick one up again someday, but it didn't make the cut for my main board. I heard there was a mod to fix the depth knob, but I don't know if it was ever popular or that I heard a modded one to compare. But I DO love BAT, so I was a bit surprised it didn't do more for me.

Yeahhh, we have a couple peavey 12" PA speakers with horns on our system. They're pretty terrible, the horns sound bad (thin, tinny) and the woofers are MEH at best. They're not... blown. But they sound pretty bad. We currently run each speaker with its own 200w channel and we basically can't get it loud enough to be heard without clipping the power amp in the PA head. I'm pretty confident that better speakers would help to a degree, but I just want to go full Office Space on the thing. We only run vocal mics through it as well.

I'm starting to scrounge around on CL to get a floor wedge for our drummer, but its slim pickins around here these days...

Seems like an Ex Factor would be great for AEAD or GDGC tuning without the weirdness of fanned frets or drop tuning.

Regarding headless basses: Joe Preston. He is an ex member Melvins, Thrones, Earth, High on Fire, and Harvey Milk. It's a dream resume, but still an ex member. Why? Because he plays a headless bass. If he ditches that headless, he'll likely find himself invited to Sumac as a full-time member!

That is one possibility- Maybe two basses; Maybe Aaron T hands out a pink slip; Maybe BC goes all-on on synth and baritone guitar. Alas, unless Joe Preston's bass grows a head, we will never know.
