They make GREAT cabs. I use a Retro Six10, and it makes an “underpowered” 100w V-4b into borderline, delicious, delicious overkill. I’m dying to run an SVT through it if only to see if anything around survives. Not to mention, it’s a freaking 65 pound 6x10.

Had one myself. I ended up with a Big Baby 2. Very happy with Barefaced. Glad you enjoy yours :)

Hehehe, I immediately went shopping. Nope! Nice cab, but I think I'll just continue to tote around my Ampeg 2x15 that I got for about 1/4 the price of a used Six10. At least, until I fry the speakers in this cab, too. I need the exercise, anyway. :D

I’d love to play through your 2x15… only Ampeg cabs i’ve ever played through were 10’s. To me the cab is the most crucial part of anybody’s rig apart from the bass itself. If it’s not doing the damn thing, it doesn’t matter what you’ve got in front of it. Your head and pedalboard become basically irrelevant because no matter what you do you’re not getting the most out of them.

So yeah, that’s my justification and i’m gonna die on that hill LMAO

Heheh, if proximity ever allows it, you're welcome to play through it - it's an unusual beast. I've had it for a few years now, and I haven't blown a speaker yet. Most speakers seem to have about a two year life span with me (got a cluster of cabs in the next room that I mean to replace speakers in someday). For some reason, I just murderize them (I blame my crippling Super-Fuzz addiction) but these babies seem like they can take it.

But yeah, the cab is where the rubber meets the road, so to speak. It's doing the actual work, so all of the stuff you're pushing at it has to do the thing you're asking it to do.

Hope to try one, one day. I don't know why but I have a thing for 610, 412, and 212. And after hearing about how much it gives to your v4b, that sounds right in line with what I'd want for my bta. It's great, but I actually like I more for guitar than bass compared to my abm. It's great but I like the punch of my abm more sometimes. Some of its for sure the nature of the ampeg 610 I'm using no doubt.

It makes my V-4b a stoner/doom MONSTER. I just watch how much low end I make it push and blast the hell out of my mids, but there’s still enough low end to be heard just fine under 280 combined watts of guitars. I ran that amp really hard at practice yesterday though…. hard enough that part of my night was spent on Reverb looking at SVT’s. Probably not a necessary thing, and we were admittedly louder than we needed to be…. I just don’t wanna decimate those tubes before their time!

Where are you Nova? Anywhere near upstate NY?
