Nice score Max, that's the BF2, i take it? I love mine. All knobs at noon, clean tone from the bass, sounds great!

Well, the EHX vintage Clone Theory is fixed. Just needed a new power cord. Cut the old one off, snipped off the janky part, stripped the leads, soldered back to the transformer, put on the electrical tape for insulation, plugged it in and voila - vintage chorus and vibrato goodness. Sounds pretty nice through the pod and near fields, can't wait to try it out through the big rig.

I'm almost disappointed that it wasn't more of a challenge. Oh well...

Anyone ever eating or drink anything tamarind based and able to describe that taste?

Yeah, it's sour and almost cinnamon flavored. It's often mixed with chili powder. I like it, but it's different. Try the tamarind jarritos soda.

It's the chili powder in the candy that turns me off. Mexican food is awesome save the candy...

I am always hesitant to get it, I almost got a tamarind jarritos as a kid and the lady said white people don't drink that one lol. Ever since for some reason I just never have tried it.

OK, so now the story on the White Cortez Les Paul.

So wednesday I met my with my gear horde buddy to so some running around. He, of course, was going to go buy some gear so I decided to tag along. After we went and got the stuff he wanted we were close to a pawn shop. We decided to pop in and there was the white cortez marked down from $225 to $175. I was vibing on it but my buddy talked me out of it. Before we left i noticed this weird mark on the pickups.

Much later that night i remembered about the marks and decided to do some research. It turns out they were marks of a late 70's gibson pickups. It was like 10:00pm and had to work the next day so i couldn't go back till after work. A long night and day at work to say the least.

So I got to the pawn shop the next day and thankfully it was still there. Without even playing it i tried to buy it. It had some broken stuff so i started to haggle to try for $80. Their bottom dollar was $160. I asked if it even worked because I was about to just buy it at $160. They gave me a cable and sure enough the guitar was DOA. So back to the haggle. I wanted it for $80 working but i said ill give them $50 AS-IS not working. They accepted!!!!!!!!

Got it home and proceeded to rip it apart. Sure enough at least one was 100% gibson the other is very similar to the stamped humbucker. I metered the pickups and they worked. These pickups on a good day sell between $100 and $150 a piece. So to tally, the guitar is worth about $150 and the pickups worth about $300. After buying the guitar, using parts from my drawer, and strings i'm in it for about $60! Super score!!!

Minus a bridge tone pot its all done and working 100%

I'm on the fence. It's i pretty high class copy. The control cavity has a circuit board which was neat and weird. It is a bolt on which makes it $150 instead of $300+ for the guitar (without the pickups). It plays nice, light, and is chambered HOG. The gibson pup is kinda noisy. I'll sit on it for a bit.

It plays really nice and sound good but the bridge pup squeels pretty bad. Might be overly microphonic. Did it at the guitar store and at home.

It could be the guitar and wiring too. I'm almost leaning toward selling my black cort les paul and the 70's gibson pickups. Keeping the pickups in my black Paul and putting in white paul.

I'm just catching up. Kawai, best wishes on mum's recovery. I have my fingers, toes, and legs crossed. But, not like a lady leg cross...

The ultimate breakfast food is green chili. I am making my special fried taters, egg/sausage scramble, and green chili cheese b-fast tomorrow. Probably watching Aquabats Super Show. I brought delay home to tinker with. Applying for new job. Things are happening with wife's job (I used to work there too), that are totally f'd up. Now I need FTE for benefits so she can scoot. Progressive insurance sucks, for employees.

I guess I missed the full discussion, but how does the 17 count as child porn when the age of consent can vary between 16-17 in some states? Is it considered ok because it's private event and not turned into media?



Not that I'm going for anything with teen in the age.

All it took it took in Florida, was an unhappy parent... I know one dude that went to my high school that had a statutory charge because of a concerned mother... He's now a "sex offender" for doing the thing we all did with high school girlfriends.
