Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Good luck, this guys probably gonna be like "dude we used to be friends what's up?" Don't fall for that, fight the dark side.

That ship sailed when he moved, took my stuff with him, then gave it away. He knew exactly what he was doing and he knew how to find my contact info - he could have easily called my parents and asked how to contact me, they're in goddamn phonebook. Slimy shager knew exactly what he was doing.

I meant to ask when you test my roadstar through it and didn't like it, were you using your dually or the 1x10?

The 1x10, but the Dually really doesn't sound/respond much different than it. That's one of the reasons I got a Dually. I have an Eminence Basslite in the 110, ported and the cab is closely matched the specs of the speaker. It was really just the EQ points on the amp, not great to my taste. Other people might feel differently, I've never liked those kinds of guitar heads as bass amps. Some people really like the VTM120 and JCM800 as bass heads, I've had both and didn't like either for bass much at all. I guess it really just depends what you're shooting for with it. I tend to go the opposite way, I've had old vintage non master volume bass heads and also liked them for guitar. Traynor YBA-1, Sound City B120, etc.

See I'm excited to get the cab fixed, because I sold the peavey Windsor for sounding good, but farting funny and I blamed the amp, before the speakers, and now I want to try all the cheaper cool heads I used to have again.

I like that Lemmy tone (when it's not used to play Motörhead ).

Wow it corrected my spelling to include the ö

Damn that's right near me, I have no real need for it it the funds, but it's tempting if It wasn't obviously gonna disappear in hours probably. I could hear how partly how loud I should be getting, and biamp

Yeah, I've got some more research to do, but considering I have a written confession that confirms that the items did belong to me and that they were given away (thus the intent to permanently deprive me of the objects in question) This ought to be enough to get some restitution.

Just printed and saved a hard copy of the email as well, just in case.

I would also be careful about reminding him of this email next time you contact him. Just inform him he owes you money and try to work it out the best you can. If he won't work with you then you have the evidence you need to take him to court. Nothing wins you a case quicker than the person you are against perjuring himself.

Yeah, I'm not going to go full-on litigious right out of the gate. Bad news for him is that he also gave away a vintage fender 2x12 from the late 60s /early 70s. That and the Sunn are both worth way more than I paid for them, and will cost a fair amount to replace. Looking at closed eBay sales and discounting those a bit - the head and cab are worth $800 easy on the low side... $1300.00 plus on the high side.

If by some stretch I actually end up getting reimbursed that money could go a long way toward a used SVT/SVTII/400/400+
