So who here thinks using my P bass's Mahgony body as a core for my flying V body is a good idea...like basically make different wings out of my Walnut. I don't ever forsee myself using that body after the V swap is done. And that way I already have a neck pocket, pickup and bridge routing done. If I do a refinish, and make it not a arch top it would look really cool. AMD this is not my usual hack job stuff. My friend nows his shvt and makes nice cabinets, so this would be a quality job.
Also why not more rig pics...rearrange the setup. The line look way better now I think. Took a lot of staring at it to get it right.

Not really.
Words' meanings depend on societal use of them. For example, "MIJ" is a slur, even though originally it was just an abbreviation. Bigoted use of it made it that way. Calling someone a "darkie" is also, you know, not really done. Terms that seem innocuous or may originally have been often end up as slurs due to the way that they're used.
Given how much they're poopie on by society, I'm inclined to just not call people stuff they seem to not want to be called. It's as simple as that. I learned that, at least those I know who are trans, do not like being called that, and why, so I don't call them that.
Well yeah, it's a slur partly because it's the term the porn sites use. Fetishization of trans people isn't actually something they like or want.
Trans folks are very marginalized in our society. If they say they don't want to be called "tranny," then it's not much effort for me to just not call them that.
Like, I'm not saying you guys are hateful bigots or anything. I mean, I didn't used to know, and then I learned the hard way that apparently that's not a nice word. I just assume people don't know stuff that nobody's told them yet.
First minute or so, P-Bass > Bluebeard > GT200 + 4 15s. The GT200 was set pretty clean so all the distortion is pretty much just the BB....and the camera mic

That would be awesome, let me know when it happens! Hopefully after this month I'll be able to focus on putting a band together again. I miss playing.
Going to watch this friend of mines stand up tonight, hope it goes well. I only recently started hanging with her. She seems really cocky about her set so I hope it's easy to laugh at. I'd feel terrible faking laughing solo in an audience.
Man there was one of those in town for like $300 like a year ago and when I inquired here Everyone said that amp catches on fire or something.
Never heard the Eden but from what I understand it's a cheap Chinese design that they just slapped the eden badge on. It may still sound great though...I'm done with amps unless I ever get a Dunwich. Selling my SVT soon and sticking with the GT200.
I guess on the what's right to call people stuff. Part of my thinking is the terms we call people are generally used to describe people to others for a particular description of them. I don't just call my gay friends gay, they have names. So I'd never walk up to a transvestite and call them that as a qualifier to get their attention. But if that transvestite gets in a fight with a xenophobic man from Kuwait I'll use the descriptors to inform others of the event as humorously as possible.
Perhaps tranny is wrong, but stuff like that's on the individual I find to truly get offended or not and the situation. Intent and inflection (which the internet loses a bit) go a long way into determining how offensive something is. I'll watch myself in the future, but like I said qualifiers are mainly used by me to tell someone else a detail, not talk to a person directly. If the transvestite/genderqueer/drag whatever ambiguous person wants me to call/describe/refer to them as something they usually tell me so with great gusto and pride. It's par for the course, I imagine, as they know they are different, and want to let you know what's up. And that is the best way (to me) to determine how to refer to anyone, out of respect. Most anyone who identify themselves a particular way other than straight I've met are pretty chill though. They get bullied and picked on enough, they don't waste more time getting offended by the people who mean well so they correct or alert you ahead of time if they feel the need to.

Oh she's totally into my friend and not really my type. But she's nice and bought all my drinks last night so when he said he couldn't make it, I had to say yes.
I do enjoy stand up though. And she said it's open mic and this incredibly hot Asian girl is a lead guitarist in a band and shows up and wails away so I'll go witness Wata in training.
So I'd guess if she isn't hot she might be funny.

Nah my friend is nearly 10 years older than me and still a bachelor and does the dating site thing. Nothing wrong with that, but he tends to decide most are just friends but then doesn't say anything to that affect and let's the girl keep acting touchy/flirty. So those that don't catch on get kinda mad. I think he thinks by quickly introducing a girl to his friends it's like saying we just friends, but I'm pretty sure the majority think he's trying to share his life with them.
Nothing is more awkward than when he tells me we are going to meet one of his friends and we get wherever and it's some girl expecting a date and I'm riding shotgun. I've since told him not to do that as it's not fun for anyone but him.
