Well, it makes me feel better that a couple of you guys have experienced the same thing with the Slinkies. I'll pick up a set of flats today and slap those puppies on the ATK.

Had Chromes on an MIM Active Jazz wen I first started playing bass. With a bit of felt rolled up for a mute. Was trying to get an un-guitar as possible to break any bad habits. Was a very cool sound, but the bass weighed 12 pounds, and I have since gone all passive. Well. other than my seldom played Yamaha fretless, which also has flats on it. I need ot dig that one out more. Love how it plays, I think it needs a new pre-amp.
Sale thread is now back up! Added that to the paypal dispute. Now I need to take a picture of what I received. I have on my phone but it looks like butt. Or at least take 50 photos and pick the best one. haha
I FN love the Solid Gold Beta. Goes from Motown cleans to mid gain. I used an EQD Speaker Cranker to push it to even more dirt(I like to set it to Motown with a slight bit of dirt for an always on pedal, then slap on the EQD for pushed tube drive). It's a dark toned drive, tons of lows and low mids so it might not be for everyone. It is that bass tone in my head, so it was like finding the holy grail bass overdrive for me and I had a few of the usual suspects. It's like a Way Huge Pork Loin with better tone and more gain IMHO. I want to buy the Zeta Drive now for guitar and to see how it stacks with the Beta. I can't wait to get the Jazzbird built as I don't have a bass with a bridge pickup to hear how the Beta will sound with bridge grind. Happily sold my Joyo UD after landing the Beta.
I can take some when I get home. But hopefully I'll be sending it back to Cali soon.

Not to keep crapping on you sundae but certain 62 jazz basses should have a copper strip from the bridge to the bridge pickup. Not all do mind you. Sucks getting burned. I'm still not even sure who made my jazz body. I'm pretty sure it's not a fender.
Speaking of that pink jazz might be using it in this space rock type band soon. Need to use it for something. It's pretty much sat since I finished it
