Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

If this all works out.... A new axe for me is part of the deal.

Very nice! Does it start with a D and end with a wall?

I ended up ordering a new Ric, should be here tomorrow. I couldn't fight it anymore. haha. I'll be firing up the VB-2 and 810, it's been a while. Time to break in the neighbors!
I should also be getting my funds for the Pbass mix up soon. Dude was pretty cool about all of it.

A buddy of mine wants to go to that Housecore Horror film festival/concert in Austin and offered to pay for my plane ticket and hotel. He's just in the midst of a nasty divorce and I guess he was planning on going there with his wife originally. He's bringing his younger brother too. I really wanna say yes, sounds like a blast and we haven't hung out nearly as much as we used to when we lived in the same city and were in bands together. Kind of tough though, being the sole wage earner in the house and having a newborn. Though I know my wife would probably say yes if I asked, because she's just cool like that. Maybe if I can pick up some recording work this month I can afford to do it.

Looks like a killer line up. My drummer's playing and I know he's excited for it.

Just got a note from the company that I bought the buffered blend kit from - seems they accidentally sent me a Rat kit so they're letting me keep that and sending the blender kit. So, that's cool. I'll get to build a Rat and mess around with components, etc to get something that I really like. Should be fun.

"Hey we fuqed up, here is a free pedal..."

That is just good business.

I want to do the GGG Green Russian clone kit like the pedal I had that I should of never sold. I want to add a clean blend knob and a mids control knob to it but I haven't found anything on my google searches how to add those knobs to a muff circuit yet.

Well, their kits are pretty bare bones - just the PCB, switch, led and pots. You need to supply the enclosure and components. So it's probably not worth their time or money to have something shipped back to them.
Granted, but that still is a very wise investment in good advertising via your experience.
I have to keep hammering that point home at my job. You can spend $10,000 on advertising that is wasted when you have 1 person blasting the company online.
