Meh. Most of the more recent copies seem to have trouble getting the proportions right, and so it always ends up looking bad to me.

Yeah, I found it completely unappealing. Plus there's that one 15" not doing anything useful. If I was going to have a mixed 15"s and 10"s rig that size, I'd just want eight 10"s and four 15"s in total.

I'm fine with my amp's graphic EQ. It's good to have, since the mid knob on the regular EQ is useless. Lets me achieve that ugly tone I like. I'd prefer a regular old rotary EQ with useful knobs, though.

Yep, freaking love that thing. Although I do have the fully loaded Titanium with AWD and Turbo, so I can't really speak to the non-Titanium models.

just sent through an enquiry to Circle K. need to know what material their strings are as i am a bassist allergic to nickel (shag me, right?)
side note for those that use them, what would be the most balanced set for C standard @ rick scale? i am considering getting my bass professionally set up again and may as well try something new.

Shipping them to you is going to cost a fuq ton. They were ~$45 last time I ordered a set with domestic shipping.
Yeah, it's me who mentions them a lot. I like them so much that I'm kinda thinking about making the trek to Denver to see them play with Neurosis. I've only seen them once, when they played at the Oakland right after Rebecca's guitars, one of the violins, and the bass had been stolen. It was an amazing, intense show. They had some technical difficulties at the very beginning due to the unfamiliar, borrowed instruments, but after that, they were bonecrushingly heavy. Also it's kinda amazing how Kim Pack, one of the violinists (the only one who was at the Oakland show, as the other one, Sarah Pendleton, couldn't go on that tour), manages to headbang while also playing the violin really well. Through a bass rig. I like partly that they totally do the whole doom metal ridiculous excessive volume thing (Rebecca Vernon's tone, apparently, just comes from cranking two 70s model Ts all the way up for overdrive, at least sometimes), but they don't sound like a 70s retro band... or really anybody else.
One of the ultimate shows, for me, I think would be a lineup that was Neurosis, Yob, and SubRosa. I've got their vinyl on the way.
Speaking of vinyl, my copy of the Yob's The Unreal Never Lived: Live at Roadburn 2012 came in the mail yesterday. Super happy about that.
they ship them straight instead of coiled eh? awkward. I can probably cut it down with freight forwarding, or go in with other people.
I have a feeling they only make nickel strings anyway - might just have to grab the closest possible gauge /tension with a custom singles set from bass strings online.
They ship them uncoiled but not in a straight cardboard box or anything, just very loosely wrapped a couple of times to fit into a regular postage bag.
ah, searching their new name (Kalium Strings) answers my question on their FAQ. they're a nickel/stainless hybrid. not sure if it's worth the risk!
further research reveals that the rotos i use are a nickel hybrid as well, however the wrap is totally stainless steel and the core is nickel, which is why i have no reaction. if this is the same with Circle K/Kalium then it will be fine, but if the outer coating is nickel even in part i would be cautious.

Trying to decide if I should use the rest of my PayPal balance to buy a cheap 80's Peavey guitar (Nitro I), a bunch of cheap pedals (Boss DD-3 and some DOD dirt boxes probably), one of those U-Turn turntables or a bunch of band shirts and album downloads. It's the last of the mad money for a while and it's all in digital form. I'm leaning towards the guitar, since I don't have one in standard tuning anymore and I have ton of pedals and more stuff on the way that I already bought cheap. Already have a turntable, but it's almost 12 years old and not good (and doesn't hook up to separate speakers).
On me it is just a discolored toenail. No itching or redness. I was treating it with over the counter stuff that would clear it up after several months but if I stopped using it the crap would come back. Plus it is almost 15 bucks for a small bottle. The meds are supposed to kill the virus that causes it and were only 11 bucks. Seemed like a good idea at the time but this no taste thing is pretty damned horrid. Completely takes the joy out of eating, which sucks because I cook everything myself using fresh ingredients and am slowly picking up some skills in that area.
I know right? I usually do eat pretty healthy. I'm going to use this opportunity to lose the last ten pounds I wanted to lose.

dude this is sick as. how the dickens do you get such a low feedback to go on for so long? a million amps?
have any of you guys done a music video before? we've just started storyboarding one for our first release/single. we're going to release it digitally ourselves first via bandcamp then once the music video is done it's going to be promoted as a short film around the country's film festivals, alongside a cassette or vinyl release. i am rather excited.
I think most people are allergic to nickel, or so i've been told by m' doctor. I get a crazy, oozy rash from my belt buckle if I don't have it synched up in a certain way. I use Ken Smith stainless steel strings, and they work great. They don't sound as bright as nickel strings, but stay crisper longer.
