Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

$1200 for a b15 is basically market value. I like those folder horn sunn cabs but the 810 & 2x18 are probably about the same size so it would look cool on stage, like so.

. Still wonder though maybe he thinks their 18's but their 15's

I just saw one at Killer Vintage two days ago for $1400 IIRC

Also, Boonville is only a 1:45-2 hour drive.

I'll check these out. I had a '65, but then packed and shipped a '72 (with the larger Theile cab) for a friend, and had a chance to A/B. Totally smitten witht he '72. '65 has since shuffled on down the road for diaper money. Twins be esspensive.

Was disturbing the peace last night with the GK RB400 and JBL E140 Dually. Just hoisted the pig into the truck for practice. Forgot how heavy it is. Now I remember why I built the bag end rig. :p

Should sound sweet though. The JBL haven't been in a band situation in over 16 years. The dirt I've collected lately will be fun deciding what the best mix is.

Board right now is TE SMX Compressor>gamma OD>BB1>AE Hail Satan>BDPG>BB2>AE UG>TE Mini tuner>Fdeck HPF v3.... The ATK has been locked in and performing well.

Dually doesn't come with JBL's. ;)

I am glad you mentioned market value. I thought they were closer to like $2300-$2500, but I literally had no idea so that would have been a guess. Though now that I think about it the guys at Killer Vintage are not stupid.

As for the cab situation. I agree it would look cooler on stage for matching cabs. I am also wondering the same thing. Cannot find ANYTHING on a 218. I am still going to try to nab the Sunn though. I have made contact and am trying to get it for $250. A minor upcharge from what was suggested here, but I will probably try to sell one or both of the speakers. No idea what would work best.

I bet it's fine with the stock speakers. If it's not broke don't fix it :)

It has an Eminence Legend and a Peavey Black Widow. I could get one or the other matching speakers or a set of something maybe more ideal. I really don't know a whole lot about speakers. I would do a search, but I feel like the S/D community might be able to better direct me with this cab than the TB community as a whole.

There's an older ampeg cab I looked up when you first mentioned it. It's hard to tell if it's 15 or 18s people just know it ain't a 10 I guess.

But like ampeg said. Staind and a few others had customs (staind dude is/was active on the forum so maybe pm him). I'm sure "it's been awhile" since people were interested in staind hehe.
I've never considered his opinion to be valid.
