Horror movie I'm currently watching is "you're next" modern but I heard it was pretty good for the generic setup. If I got time it'll be followed by bad milo, but I doubt I'll get to that one. The wife doesn't like horror, is I only watch it when she's out.

B-15n sounds pretty sweet, real classic tone. Doesn't seem to like dirt pedals like I was hoping, so I'm on the fence about it currently, but it'll take some time I make a fully informed decision.

Interesting, I used the b15 I have on loan for the metal band recording and it sounded killer. Rocked it with a p bass and a demon. My loner is a rocker era and has a different cab then yours. My buddy has the same era as yours and we have put dirt thru it with good results. Don't be scared to dime the bass and treb for a bit of the classic "scooped" sound :)

I messed around for over an hour with it, considering there are 3 knobs and no rocker switches, that's quite a bit of tweaking to be done. I found I liked my clean tones a lot better than any dirt pedal I had (DK, LED Demon, and Grey Stache).
I could get relatively decent tones with them, but I couldn't get the same aggressive punchy grind I get from my current GK combo. Much more saturated and un-defined through the B-15. Very fine balance between muddy and tinny. Also my favorite tone I got out of the amp (clean) was significantly louder than I would play at apartment levels.

Never posted here a lot because I am a work-slave, have a family and the past few years we've been moving all over the damn country, but I gotta say, this particular corner of TalkBass has the coolest group of people on it. Very supportive, informative...I'd like to kick around here more. Hope I'm not too annoying.

I've been playing long time (jesus, more than 35 years now (!)) but I got married and had kids about 16 years back and sort of fell out. Stopped gigging, then stopped playing on sessions, then mostly packed it in. Past two years I didn't even own a bass (long, sad story) but I'm trying to get back in the saddle. Good thing is, my wife is also a musician (pretty much retired from it) but she's very cool and encouraging and wants me to start playing again.

What sucks is I'm in a little town in Oklahoma (for now) and places like this...when you try to find people to jam with, if they are around my age, it's all pudgy, pasty guys in khaki man-shorts and fuggin' fedoras wanting to play middle of the road 70s rock...Eagles, Steve Miller, Clapton faux-blues crud. I mean, that's fine if you are into it, but I am not interested in playing or listening to that stuff.

Sorry for the life story. I'd dig on living vicariously through some of you guys and hearing more stories of gigging and recording. I am VERY interested in hearing the work the people here are involved in.

Besides what's been mentioned, these are the heavier bands I'm in to. The body is really good, especially for a two piece.
We might have better suggestions depending on how you rate this stuff.

I am going to pick up my new cab in a few hours. Going with the fabled 810e. Found one in mint condition and talked the guy down to $550 for it. Hopefully I don't get robbed/raped in the process. This will be my first purchasing experience via CL where it was not a handoff transaction and where I have to go to someones house. I am bringing a buddy with me and all money/wallets and maybe one of our phones are staying in the car until the cab is outside the house. Maybe I am being paranoid, but St. Louis has grown to have a pretty terrible reputation. The cab is actually across the river and though it is not in East STL, the area it is in is not a huge improvement.

Also I think I struck a deal with the guy who had the Ampeg 218. Going to hopefully trade him an Avatar 115 that I have been trying to sell for like 2 years now plus $200.

Does anyone know where to find more information on this cab? I have googled it a couple times but I am finding little to no information.

I am super excited to loosen bowels with this rig.

Was disturbing the peace last night with the GK RB400 and JBL E140 Dually. Just hoisted the pig into the truck for practice. Forgot how heavy it is. Now I remember why I built the bag end rig. :P

Should sound sweet though. The JBL haven't been in a band situation in over 16 years. The dirt I've collected lately will be fun deciding what the best mix is.

Board right now is TE SMX Compressor>gamma OD>BB1>AE Hail Satan>BDPG>BB2>AE UG>TE Mini tuner>Fdeck HPF v3.... The ATK has been locked in and performing well.
