Shot in the dark here: I've been trying to find info on Bryan Richie pedalboard. Any idea what he uses? He's the bassist in The Sword, and I'm trying to just find out how he gets that sound.

Think im gonnna buy this Bass VI neck and for go getting a squier, just convert the V to a VI, and if i like it with the wooden neck ill order an EGC neck.

Also not getting the squier justifies me buying one of them minifooger delays and a epression pedal this week during a stores super sale.

Pretty sure they are different scale lengths?

Sounds like a P bass with flats (or dead rounds w/tone rolled off)into an SVT.
Sounds good but nothing special IMO.

My main concern is that I don't know if the sound samples I heard are the pedal only or the pedal boosting/overdriving a tube preamp/amp.

Thoughts?

Haven't played music with the band in like 3 or 4 weeks now. Drummer has carpal tunnel and is out of commission for now. Itching to play. Took the SVT in for repairs....again. I don't know what it is about that amp. Got it fixed a year ago, sounded great for two or 3 jams. Didn't play it again until last month and it sounded like crap. no volume and very distorted. Sounds like the V1 12DW7 has gone bad. I don't know why V1 keeps dying on me.

What brand tube are you using? I bought a NOS sylvania and haven't had any issues. Had tons of problems with the JJ's i tried. That tube was always the heart of my problems and that tube socket like to get dirty and give me fits too.

I think the phat phuk is cool. Its low gainy...but with a g&l I bet I would get much dirtier. Hell for $120 just grab it and try it. I liked it, but found it not necessary amidst my horde of dirt pedals.

Who knows maybe ill just buy a squier VI and minimoog.

Id really have to sell some stuff then.

yeah the JJs sucked. the last two were NOS, but I can't remember the brand.

Yea I've only heard their first records and saw it in some live vids probably 4 years ago. No idea what he records with.

Got my first ever bass back for free with a practice amp (interest?). Man it's been vandalized by some strangers in the last 4 years.

I want to just totally refinish it. Anyone ever used a heat gun to strip a body of paint? I'm ok with surface burns my plan is to use my wood burner and burn up the body somehow then stain it.
