Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

ImageUploadedByTalkBass1417750394.323454.jpg

Picked up one of the new Fuzzrocious Afterlife reverb pedals when they went up for sale this past weekend, showed up yesterday but got a chance to really mess with it today.

It's really awesome. Has a hint of modulation to the verb so it ebbs and flows like an old tape echo. Plus it can self oscillate, which is always fun.

If you're using it in mono the second footswitch switches to a different reverb decay setting (short/long) but it only works as a momentary switch, so it's super cool to set the second setting to self oscillate and you can bring in feedback and oscillation with the momentary switch. Super super cool sounding.

In stereo it's even crazier as each reverb works independent of the other. R1 is normal mix/decay but R2 is decay/volume since R2 is reverb only, no dry signal. Had it plugged into both channels on my B-15n and was getting all sorts of cool spacial sounds and reflections.

Ry knocked it out of the park on this one, I'm a sucker for time based effects but this is definitely a reverb worth checking out.

Right on, Ron!

I was having connection issues with the feedback looper, but it worked fine last practice. Gremlins... I'm glad I took the time to fix this old DOD delay I had. It has some great self oscillation. Add that with feedback looper and phaser. I like noises. I could just play with the pedals all day. Build up some shite, and then Duuuuuuuuunnnnnnn! Hit that first note. *sigh*

So I think I'm gonna commission a 408 clone with my buddies at fury sonic amplification as a joint venture, I recently have been doing a lot of research on them and I think it's gonna work out, I just ordered 4 eminence legend cb158's, their main cabinet builder is sourcing the Baltic birch from the wood yard he works at, think I'm gonna do red tolex and fender/sunn black face grill screen with white tubing. Also consider redoing the Bassman 300 in red tolex as well to match

scrapping the Dually idea?

Uugh...reverb is my favorite effect....i want that. Must save money for other things.

Ron, I was afraid you were gonna get that Afterlife and make it sound awesome.

Sorry to disappoint, you should probably still buy one to prove me wrong though.

1. Sorry to hear about the job situation.

2. Who really needs money? Gear is better, especially awesome reverb pedals.

3: When trying to type the word money, my phone autocorrected it to "beers". And in answer to the question "who really needs beers?" The answer is, everyone.

Slowly walking to the office bathroom with my cack pointing true north to relieve the pressure from your practice gear...
