Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

The ol' lady made some Sushi yesterday after we hit up the Asian grocery store after we already pigged out at Sushi King on Saturday. Felt like I found the lost ark when the store had eel sauce. Wish there was an Asian grocery store in town.

is it bad that I have 0 interest in seeing EW? I just don't think they are worth it, especially live. they sound like shvt and don't seem to put any effort in playing.

I'm basically the same way. They haven't released anything I've considered good for awhile and the lineup is so different now. I had friends who asked if I wanted to drive to Philly to see the show. I would go see them if it was local but I'm not going out of my way to do it.

Every so often, I get GAS for more fuzz/distortion and spend a few hours online looking up more options. But then, I play my rig again and think, "Dang! I sound GOOD!" Love my rig AND it's incredibly versatile. Just saying. Spent a while today looking at a a Musket Fuzz, but then played my rig again, and I don't even want it anymore.

I want one more non-Muff fuzz, but not sure what to get. I guess something Fuzz-Facey since I already have the Ron FN Swanson Super Fuzz.

What are good recorded/famous examples of non-Muff fuzzes? I feel like all the ones I know (or at least like) are all Muffs. Love to learn something, as I tend to go towards Muffs, though I do look at plenty of fuzzes. I guess I just might not know what they're based off.

I don't understand how anyone thinks that those Fu Manchu and John Garcia albums are any good....
I also don't know how Lo-Pan can come in at #6 with Truckfighters not even making the list. I'm also not a big Yob fan either. But this is his personal preference of his top 30 albums so none of that really matters. It's what he likes best. I'll be curious to see how the reader poll matches up. I feel like that Fu Manchu album fell really flat.

Yeah, i don't know what the hell happened with fumanchu. I hated California crossing when it came out, but compared to the last few it's pretty good. Gigantoid was hailed as a return to form so I gave it a listen - hated it. There's no groove anymore, their riffs are all kind of angular and sound tossed off/thrown together without much thought or care.

Haven't heard the garcia record, no real desire to, but I thought the Vista Chino album was pretty damn good.

Octave/Fuzz... Like I needed more dirt, but this guy is on fire IMHO. No pun intended. Well see how it works later.
Was kind of shocked to have USPS drop this off so early this morning.
Need to cram a bunch of stuff into the next two days (prep for activities in the first two weeks of January) so I can take the last week of the year off... Including the 26th! :)
Were gearing up for the Studio if drummer can get the scrilla together. Hope to start tracking soon.
Meanwhile were recording each practice and tightening up the 11 songs that made the "list".

Ok, I need a small mixing board. Goal is to have enough inputs and options to be fully functional for a band as well, if the need arises. I'm not all that convinced Behringer is the only answer. Goal is to have USB interface as well.
I found the Yamaha MG10XU could work, but would want sliders for levels so that pushes me up to the MG12XU.

Any other suggestions?
