I prefer to use my wah after dirt. I get a more exaggerated/harsher wah sound that way and that's what works for me in my band.

Ric-esque body without binding, black/black maple, cool weird industrial looking knob. If I could get that just the P pickups and without the knobs up top, I would be super tempted to sell some sh*t and buy that right now.

IMHO the one thing Dingwall is lacking is a Humbucker that works with their fanned fret system. The NG2 kind of addresses that, as well as the Z2/3 with stacking pick ups at the bridge, but it just doesn't do everything aestheticially for me.
Looks like they can offer a few different pickup configurations. Aside from the tone and pickup selection on the upper bout I'd want all the tuners inline. Hanging a loan tuner out there on a head stock always looks like an after thought to me.
Speaking of recording, I have a Sennheiser MD421 I'm happy with but thinking about adding a second mic to my arsenal in 2015. Any other mics in that price range worth checking out?

The 421 is a pretty versatile mic. My favorite, affordable all arounder is the EV RE20. Sounds great on kick drums, guitar and bass cabs, vocals. For some reason, I don't use condenser mics much, though I have a few. My Manley Reference is a good one, but they're kinda spendy. Are you just looking for a mic for bass, or for recording in general?
Multi function is definitely a plus. I've used my MD421 on some drums and it worked well there, too. For bass, I like it in tandem with my Countryman DI (b/w head and cab) mixed in. Just looking for a different mic to slap on the cab for variety's sake.
EV RE20 or Shure SM7b are both good for bass, vocals and some other applications. I personally love the SM7b, because it can take such high volumes and has a lot of off axis rejection. So you can put it on a kick drum, a loud guitar/bass, use if for hand held screamy vocals. It has a lot of uses in recording heavy music. I have both and use both regularly though. There's certainly a lot of other great (better) microphones out there for specific and general applications in recording, but if you just had nothing but 421's, RE20's and SM7b's you could record a pretty good sounding album.
Okay I'm good with checking either the EV RE20 or Shure SM7b; I'll keep my eyes peeled for one or the other. Don't really wanna buy a brand new one. Thanks, @dukeorock and @Corey Y.
No problem man, you should be able to find either one used for a decent price with some patience. Both are great workhorse microphones.

I have both, but the RE20 gets used the most, for what it's worth
So tried the bass VI with the full rig and full volume but not in a band situation just diddling around...definitley an interesting instrument, its going to take some time to figure out how to exactly use it, before i can fully comment. The fit and play ability is great. I definitely need some flats in this thing and a new bridge.
Im gonna order some la bella flats for it but is there a replacement bridge with rollers out there specifically for these or are you using parts for a jazzmaster or jaguar?
Also finally finished my pedalboard. So its not just two planks loose. Made the backed piece raised so i could free board space by putting the power supply under it.
