Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

...
A drummer emailed me to tell me he saw an ad I put up a while ago, liked my jams on Soundcloud and is moving here next June. I don't really know what to make of that or if it's even worth sharing, but I just did lol.
Moving there next June. Hmmmmm.
You could whip up a couple of albums and have time to get burnt out on them before then.
Or you could bust out a couple of albums and forget how to play them....

Either way I can't think past February.

Dude you attract some of the best(=worst)Craigslist responses. I think you've an evil nemesis f'n with you.
Maybe it's time to write an illustrated children's book about all of this? That way the next generation can grow up without having to be such asshats.

I replied to him and chatted in a friendly way with the guy, he seemed cool, but I really don't care. I'm with you, I'm not thinking that far ahead. I stopped posting or bumping ads a while ago, I'm not even thinking about or trying to find drummers right now anymore. That's just the kinds of CL responses I get. People who want to jam and then decide they really don't want to play music anymore, realized they don't have time to be in a band, never wanted to play the style of music I advertised in the first place and were hoping they could sway me to something else or OOPS didn't even realize what city my ad was for and are 4 hours away. It's whatever, hopefully people stop digging up my ads from months ago and wasting my time.

Done with work for 2014, at home wrapping presents for the lil' thugz, jamming out to VEGA, holy sh!t this kicks ass. Only listened to tracks piecemeal in the car before. Great stuff.
I was listening to Vega on the drive in to work and kept thinking it would be great stripper music because it's slow but has groove.

The other day I was hanging out with a friend (or friend of a friend, really) and played him the album I just engineered. He was kind of lukewarm on it, just sort of shrugged and said "I don't like it, but you did a good job". Today I saw he posted a link to the band on Facebook as part of a "check these bands out!" type post. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, I just thought that was weird and kind of pandering, because I know he's friends with all but one of the band members on FB.
