Even though I only paid about $50 for the lumber I'm using and I will get two blanks out of it, plus all the shop time is free to me, I would probably just buy a body blank next time I want to make an instrument from scratch. Making the body from the blank on is pretty easy and I can do it with all hand tools, milling and gluing up everything is a pain in the rear. I might feel differently if I had my garage shop set up already and could mill in there, but I don't even have a planer or a jointer anyway.
If you're giving it away, I could probably use it or find someone who would, but it might be a pain for you to ship due to the hazardous chemicals nature.
