Do you have to re-oil the cast iron cookware after ever time you clean it?

It really depends on what you are doing with it.

At the restaurant, I strip the "cure" off of my main pan every day when I get there. The lunch guy fuqs it up. I toss it in to a 1500 degree broiler and burn everything off. Once it has started to cool a bit, I douse it with rendered pork fat, and let that coat the cooking surface.

At home, I maybe have to re-cure my pans once a year or so. I use vegetable shortening. Strip it clean, then rub it with shortening all around, and put it on a baking pan, pour some salt in to the cooking surface and scrub it around a bit. Toss it in a 400 degree oven for a few hours. Curing the whole pan will keep the non cooking surfaces from rusting. After I use it, I dont wash it, no soap ever touches the pan. Just heat it up, scrap out what is left in there, and rub it with some vegetable oil while it is hot.

May just have to bust out the Dutch oven today and make some Chile.

Works good for that, I like making up a pot then putting in the oven at 300-325. Since you're able to heat it above 212 degrees you can get more flavor a lot faster. It's much easier and faster to get to the "all-day simmer" flavor just by putting it in the oven at a higher temp for an hour.

Works for me.

I love my cast-iron skillet, be sure to learn about proper seasoning/care of it. No soap!

Oh I know all about it from being a bonafide Eagle Scout and all. Also Good eats has a great Dutch oven episode, with a great maintenance rundown (on Netflix currently too).

You can make many desserts with cast iron, especially a Dutch oven. Biscuit dough cobbler is great.

Also it majes a good semi Chicago style pizza.

I thought I had my MIM P-bass sold yesterday, but the person never got back to me about what time to meet. May still happen, fingers crossed. I'm still trying to unload half a dozen pedals too, hopefully some people are itching to spend their christmas cash. I need to replace some old recording accessories (pop filter, some headphones) and pay for a couple more fillings next month.

Another day at work with no work to do (had one delivery in at 8am), listening to Ancient Warlocks.

Dem knobs man

Love my cast iron, if i do cook, its all i use. I got it from my dad who got it from his dad. I very lightly oil after every use. Im working on building up the seasons on it because when i lived on the eastside and was going to UWM, one of my roommates used it without my permission and didnt clean it properly and it rusted to shvt. I had to grind it clean down to bare metal. That was like 50 years of seasoning in that skillet gone, shvt doesnt taste the same.

For those of you who are selling your stuff on band camp, what do you make of all this VAT stuff?

Im trying to decide what to do for VEGA. Go free, or stream only, or name your own price but tell EU people to take for free...

I don't think it affects you because both the seller and buyer have to be part of the EU...that was my understanding anyway.
