Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Man around town theres several kustom tuck and roll setups and they are asking like $750 for just 100 watt head and 2x15. A pa is like $1000.

Kustom have suddenly insane asking prices around you guys too?

Idiots will buy anything if you tell them it is vintage and rare.

Just look at wine. It is dirty foot grape booze....

Nope. I still see them going for like $250 for the heads and even with matching cabs. Scanning through ebay shows the range of prices has varied a lot since I last looked. Still some dirt cheap ones, but the prices are climbing. Like the $57,000 John Fogerty rig that has no letter of authenticity and that the seller admits John Fogerty denies having owned...

Any IT guru's here can help me figure something out. My girlfriend picked me up a used notebook/netbook for Christmas. But the damn thing is blocking pictures on some websites and not all. Like Avatars on here. Is that a registry issue?
I think it found it, I think it is the anit-virus settings are too restrictive.

Being a sensible human I'd only pay $50,000.

LOL, DVD porn is the safest porn LOL. I feel bad because I want to smash the FN thing off the FN wall and she keeps asking me why aren't you using it. I know she was trying to surprise me but you are just buying someone's junk. I'm cheap and I buy refurbished putters but I get them from Tiger Direct at least. I have tried all the common fixes so far. If I could get my hands on the IT tech at work to put me on the right path but they got him running ragged.

MAN!!! so Ive been playing my Jazz for months and was "in love" with it so much that I was ignoring my Musicman completely. This morning I plugged in the jazz and it sounded good but didnt quite do it for me. So I grabbed my Musicman and OH MY GOD did I forget how damn good it sounded!! What have I been missing??

oh.. btw... opinions guys...
Ive been playing my tube amps pretty much exclusively and my JGR preamp has been kinda sitting. I love it, it sounds great and is one of like 5 in the world, but it never sees the stage. Same thing with my Warwick Rusty. I play it a good bit at home, but it never sees the stage either. Its one of 11 in the world. USUALLY, when I dont use something live very often I make myself sell it and put it in the hands of someone that will. But both of these are so rare, that once theyre gone, theyre gone for good. I know its "just stuff", but its also awesome gear that's very hard to replace should I have another "musicman moment". If I sold em both I could have about $2.5- $3K. If I keep em, Ive got more cool stuff, that I dont use enough...

what would you do?

considering the JGR would be almost impossible to buy again I would hold on to it unless you need the cash.

You could always lend it to me for a while ;)

Although I'd need a power amp of some sort...

People are paying for the tuck n roll vinyl. The amps are pretty unremarkable, in my experience.

I would probably pay too much for a sparkly purple tuck and roll...

i cant. It doesnt say Peavey on it.
and worse... its a sin to run that glory into a Peavey! ;):ninja:

OH NO HE DIDNT!!!!
yep... i think he did.

1) Dont sell

2) You attack Peavey, you attack me!!! My Peavey Henge with crush you and your mother

3) ...

4) Profit

i would sell for gear you do want to use.

my current mode of gear acquisition is "sell everything you don't", so i'm being pretty ruthless in order to pay for some necessary items (road cases etc). the only two items i don't use every day that i'm keeping are my yellow DOD 250 and DS-1 because they're dirt cheap and good for home use, otherwise everything else is gone.

tour setup will be as follows:

4001 neck -> pitchblack -> bluebeard -> bass amp
4001 bridge -> cthulhu fuzz (once it arrives) -> guitar amp

That stuff sounds like retirement gear. Keep it and retire somewhere hot.
