Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I tried vertically stacking my Duallies when I first got the Faital one. It was...precarious.

Haha, yeah I can imagine it would be. I'd hate to see one of those valuable new cabs take a tumble, not to mention whatever amp happened to be on top of them.

I was at a local show a few years back at a bar that has no stage whatsoever, bands just set up in the front room on the floor. Well, there was a 1' deep shelf that ran around the 'stage' area and some genius bass player decides to put his huge-ass 15" combo up there. At first thought - not a terrible idea, get it up closer to your ears. Halfway through the first song the amp does a face plant onto the floor and dies on the spot. Someone gave him a loaner to finish the set.

Couldn't have been a peavey.

I would think the Bassic15 would stack just fine on the Dually

I think it looks like this. ;)

I think when I did it, I was using my Crest stereo power amp, either set off to the side or maybe on top. I don't think I would have put a big tube amp on top of them. They don't have the same type of corners so that they would be interlocking. On top of that they're much taller than they are wide and pretty light, so when I stack them vertically they're way taller than an 8x10 or two 4x10 cabs stacked and a bit wobbly. Every time I've played with both of them though, they were spaced either side of the drum kit, so I didn't have a huge issue with comb filtering anyway. I would try the crossfiring thing sometime, just to find out how it sounds.

Hey Max,
You going to the Torche show at the Cactus on March 15th? 99% sure that I'll be there. Sunday night, but that's a show worth taking a day off/showing up to work with no sleep for.

Hadnt heard of it yet. Is the line up complete? If not VEGA may try to jump on then...and then ill definitely be going

All Them Witches is rolling through on Valentines Day...dont know how to swing that with a lady friend now.
